Hey man there are good parts and bad parts of any country. If you don’t want to get hurt when visiting a nation unfamiliar to you, don’t act like a moron and go to bad areas or deal with shady people. If your super nervous, travel in a pair or with a group, or better yet, have a local you trust. Like come on guys, it’s 99% common sense with this. If you’re that paranoid about X happening in Y country maybe you shouldn’t go there and just stay home.
Ok so in the stats class I took they mentioned taking out extreme outliers so axel tbh you’re wrong on this one. If it’s such an extreme outlier and skewing the data badly oftentime statisticans will remove it to find the normal curve and such.

I have been arguing with the guy claiming the US is where tourists go to die and you decided to chip in for his side, so I made a little point about how shit and unuseful statistics are in this context. You can continue this line of discussion if you like but you will be the only one talking.
You're the one who claimed most of the US has a much lower homicide rate than much of Europe and you don't expect people to be surprised by that? If you don't want people to contradict you then you should probably refrain from pulling such claims from your ass. I made your point for you already, if you actually read my post. If you want to have a sufficiently accurate representation of homicide rates in a location, look up local rates. No shit. You don't have to do a number salad to prove your point.

All I was talking about was how I feel more safe in my country than the states, and how I personally wouldn't want to visit with how things are now. What OvB has said above is fair, though, and I've changed my perspective due to that.
The Northern Territory has a murder rate of 5.5/100k. I guess I should avoid it and go to the US instead :downs:
Tbf, I'm pretty scared of visiting the US. All it takes is one wrong move to readjust your pants
Imagine thinking this was actually true. And what do yoy mean by "how things are now"? Has my something severely changed my entire country in the past few years I'm not aware of?
Also if you find yourself out at night and chased by orca remember that they can't climb trees, again rather like muggers
Thanks, I'll remember the next time I go to New Zealand to ensure that any area that I go to has at least one pine in case of a killer whale attack.
i'm shocked that my country isn't on the safe list must be something related to the state of road network
