Marvel Wants Comic Shops To Dress Like Hydra, Fails Horribly

A convoluted, unnecessary retcon that shits all over a character for the sake of shock value.
Yep, it's comic books alright.

That being said I probably wouldn't wanna walk around a store that's decked out in the fantasy equivalent of a Nazi operation, fictional or otherwise lol. It just seems a little...... obtuse and inappropriate. Especially given the current political climate.

What? Why? I don't understand. It's fantasy, I'm sure the creator isn't a neonazi writing out his die hard antijewish fantasies via a marvel product

it's fantasy based on a real life historical counterpart.
This is exactly why i stopped buying Marvel comics, i'm really tired of all these plot twists gimmicks they pull every issue, do they really need to rely on that to make their comics interesting? Can't they just make a good story for once that's good and gets remembered because the story itself is actually good and not because character x get replaced by a new version, character y transforms into something else and character z was actually a nazi all along?
Because fictional content doesn't exist in a vacuum and has real world connotations and contexts that can be misconstrued by any number of people who are not aware of what Hydra is and the extent of fantasy that it exists in.
They're well within their right to not do something that may be insensitive to them as people.
Now look. I'm not saying the MCU is a collection of cinematic masterpieces that will stand the test of time for all eternity. But the MCU movies (disregarding a few) are all pretty brilliantly made. Some are weak, some are incredibly strong, but they're all very very consistent. So how the fuck are their comics so bad?

Seems like the movies are made by writers, directors, and various other assorted staff which take their work professionally and seriously, whereas the comic book end of things is full of either adult children desperate to use their writing as a pedestal for their political views or cynical marketers looking to make a quick buck through shock value even as they tear continuity, characterization, and every other meaningful aspect of fiction in their worlds a new asshole.
When it comes to the political end of things, I don't believe there's anything wrong with writing stories that reflect your opinions on the world around you. But at the same time, there's a difference between a well crafted story which demonstrates your point, and using the universe as a mouthpiece for your verbal tantrums. There's no way I can defend "UNSOLICITED OPINIONS ON ISRAEL???" and assorted trash like it even if I wanted to. It's just awful, terrible writing.
On the shock-value end of things, I can understand why a niche market like comics would want to make headlines in order to increase sales, but there's a reason that the phrase "Jumped the shark" isn't a positive one and it feels like comics have been jumping the shark for the past few decades...
Bringing modern politics and SJW bullshit and neo-con garbage into comics has to be the most embarrassing attempt at anything
[editline]22nd April 2017[/editline]
like "haha look at the villain he's so RACIST and MEMINIST" in such a mocking way is obnoxious and appeals to no one worth your time
even feminists wouldn't read that trash
"Unsolicited opinions on Israel" always gets me.
I mean, what should he even say behind those censor bars? "You filthy bitch whores sucking dick for a dollar on corner! Also, fuck jews, Israel is not a country!"?
The three questions marks always makes me laugh. It makes the villain and the writer look confused.

Two separate companies.
Marvel Studios USED to be part of Marvel Entertainment, with a creative committee dictating the MCU composed of Kevin Feige, guys like Jeph Loeb, Bendis, and Ike Perlmutter.
That no longer exists and they were separated by Feiges request (directly to Bob Iger) because Ike (the CEO of Marvel Entertainment, as in everything but the movies) was a cunt, among other things. Marvel Studios is now fully under Disney and not Marvel.
Speaking of, Doctor Strange went into production just after it was split, Guardians 2 and Thor Ragnarok well after the split, and they all have vastly superior visuals and cinematography just in the trailers alone than a number of the previous MCU films.
 Really makes you think.

Tell that to the guy I know that unironically wears the "Ask Me About My Feminist Agenda" T-shirt from that Mockingbird series.
Isn't Captain America's defining trait that he is all righteous, patriotic and wholesome?
I mean, without a moral high ground there is pretty much no point to him existing.

He's kind of like Superman in that regard.
They even combined the two during the Amalgam crossover.

In Civil War Captain America hijacked a jet to avoid being captured by SHIELD (or HAMMER, whatever) when they turned on him. He made the pilot land him somewhere safe, then took the pilot to get a burger to apologise for forcing him to land the plane like that.
Captain America is the goodest of men, he's the man who's supposed to represent the very best of America, and he does it without giving it a second thought because that's genuinely who he is. Turning him into a Nazi is the biggest betrayal of a character you could do. It'd only be topped by making a holocaust survivor support the Nazis. Oops, did that too.
Can Disney just nuke Marvel and bring in some good writers who don't need an event or a reboot every 2 months to justify their work? Please?
i bet they'll make magneto a former Wehrmacht Hauptmann
But Hydra wasn't Nazis, they existed for centuries, before Nazis came to power. Coulson told me so!

I thought that was the dumbest plot twist ever
they could have made it cool if they did anything other than hydra / the ending wasn't as insignificant

A wormhole situation where SJW Hydra literally destroyed the Marvel Universe and the universe gets rebooted like when DC wrote a story for New 52 that blamed the edginess on Dr. Manhattan messing with the universe and led into Rebirth
Carol Danvers vs Feminist Agenda Carol Danvers coming soon
Wow I thought Marvel couldn't get any worse, but damn, there it is
"Comics were a mistake." - Stan Lee
Not really, just Marvel. DC and the rest of the smaller companies have at least one title worth reading if not more. Marvel is just run by an incompetent buffoon who is in deep with both the company and Disney so they can just buy him out.

And just like that, Captain America and Thor are both permanently scarred in ways they will never recover from.
I want to believe that this shit is gonna be retconned, but I know it won't.
So Captain America is a Nazi collaborator who turned a blind eye to the holocaust because it got results, and Thor and Odin are evidently Nazi sympathizers who have no problem with assisting with genocide.
Spider-Man making a deal with satan doesnt even come close to this shit.

That...no, I'm not actually seeing this, am I?
Kinda shit timing considering Monday April 24th is National Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Maybe that was a bit of the irritation on the part of folks who are aware of such things.
Shit timing, story lines aside.
