Follow up question; can snakes go in reverse?
I thought snakes in general were pretty scary until I saw this:

Look at how happy he is!
Since then, I've been lucky enough to encounter a few more people IRL who happen to keep snakes as pets too and they're kinda neat. Weird, but neat. I mean, some of them are kinda adorable looking too:
Interesting.
Besides garters, what would you consider notable species of social snakes? (Regardless of the viability of keeping them captive)
Out of curiosity, have you dealt with jumping spiders at all since you said you've worked with tarantulas (I know jumping spiders aren't tarantulas, but still)? I've always found them inquistive and with tons of personality from what I've seen, so I was just wondering.
Garters are the most notable because of their gigantic social groups, but racers can also be very social with each other. There are many examples of racers on island chains that go into large groups for whatever reason.
And no, I've never worked with jumping spiders, I would love to though. I've worked with tarantulas, locally found spiders, and orb weavers.

I dunno if snakes can develop this kind of bond but some reptiles can.
