If you guys were going to make a new Postal game (maybe you are who knows), what engine will you use, would you go with Source like P3 or kick it somewhere else?
Ideally UE3/4
I reckon Unreal or maybe even Unity3D. Source could definitely work though without too many Russian developers involved or even Source 2 :P edit: ninja'd by a dev :O
Ideally UE3/4
UE3 seems like a solid choice.
UE4 is a higher number though.
Whatever happened to the non-commercial Postal 2 remake that had RWS's blessing? Aren't you guys afraid of external developers after last time? Even the Mod DB page and trailer are done in broken English.
My saved messed up :( I gotta restart the whole game. :C Looks like I'm going to have to have FUN again.

Best thread of 2013, easily.
General protection fault! History: AbsorbedPaused <- ULevel::Tick <- TickLevel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop
Re the problems, really sorry 'bout that. No excuses really but I'll give you the reasons at least. We bit off more than we could chew before getting it out this year as we promised (people waiting on achievements since forever). Lesson learned, should have not tired to do too much at once with the size of the team we had, and didn't have enough time for the sort of QA testing it in hindsight so obviously needed. That said, we have our bug squatter in hand and are going to hopefully patch out the worst of them by the end of the week, and might even have a few hot fixes rolling out by the end of tonight. Save issues, possible achievement problems and performance are all being looked into right now. Also, we DO get the crash reports submitted via the 'submit bug report' now, first time since like 2005, so please do shoot those over if you are abruptly escorted to your desktop, we've already batched them into groups for analysis. And we'll also get the original Steam 1409 build onto Steam at some point, for those that just like it as it was (always was the plan just didn't quite workout how we hoped first night). Any way enough geek talk, Mike get back here and make a dick joke or something.
Ideally UE3/4
I have to ask, do you have any plans to make a kickstarter for a new Postal? Seems to me a lot of people (including myself) would fund it.

You mean like that? I would say it would be cool to have it as a free downloadable DLC for the game and then being able to select between Postal 2 and Postal 2 Classic in the launcher, but that would require keeping both on your hard drive at once. On Steam, once you have a DLC, you can't get rid of it.

We'll see what's up, I'm still leaning towards the old build being on a Beta branch, kinda how the Tomb Raider devs kept older builds on their games up as betas. Thoughts welcome though, we have a bit of time to decide on it.
the multiplayer component to POSTAL 2....it also included the major patch that fixed the loading problems and added tora bora! [editline]16th December 2013[/editline] thanks for your long time support...now could you buy 5 more copies and gift them to your friend....if you have any....and if you don't MAKE SOME!
I already said this before, but I'll gladly say it again: Last weekend I bought 5 copies of Postal 2. Back in 2007 I traded in my GBA-SP and its games so that I could buy Postal X. So six times I've bought it. On another note: Postal 2 was one of the games that sparked my interest into wanting to create games.
i had no intention of buying this game but because the devs are awesome i bought a bunch. faggots why are you making me give these out as christmas presents
Anyone wanna have a deathmatch only with pissing? [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] In Postal 2, that is :v: [editline]17th December 2013[/editline] Nevermind, networking is fucked up
What other plans do you guys have for Postal 2? Would you ever add in brand new content such as missions or gameplay. I would buy a new expansion pack for it to be honest.

I gifted this to one of my Mormon friends who has two small children and their computer is located in the family room.

You did it with the taxi outside the book depot. Just get generic car models even like that taxi but in different colors and replace the really blocky, photo textured cars. It seems like a relatively simple fix to me but hey, i'm not a game dev so i could be deathly wrong with a bitchslap heading towards my way from various developers from even this forum.

Trust me we know the cars are terrible :)
A HD Postal 2 would be amazing Just exclusively for big fancy 2013 gore, it would be beautiful, imagine the piss physics
A HD Postal 2 would be amazing Just exclusively for big fancy 2013 gore, it would be beautiful, imagine the piss physics
Maybe it'll finally then be possible to realistically play football with some poor sods head.
An HD update would be nice, but if you're talking about a whole remake with a new engine and stuff I'd rather have them put that kind of work into a new game.
An HD update would be nice, but if you're talking about a whole remake with a new engine and stuff I'd rather have them put that kind of work into a new game.
RWS probably wouldn't have to do shit anyway, look at Fallout/Elder Scrolls people make HD mods all the time, I'm sure somebody will do it once workshop is out
It seems after I turned cheats on my achievements became permanently disabled regardless of the save I load. I am not sure what to do now.
It seems after I turned cheats on my achievements became permanently disabled regardless of the save I load. I am not sure what to do now.
You've angered the gods. Time for the sacrificial ritual.
It seems after I turned cheats on my achievements became permanently disabled regardless of the save I load. I am not sure what to do now.
You must manually enter the console command "sissy" to disable cheats. The console also tells you to restart the game before achievements can be re-enabled, so you probably have to do that as well.
