You must manually enter the console command "sissy" to disable cheats. The console also tells you to restart the game before achievements can be re-enabled, so you probably have to do that as well.
Already tried that. I may have to reinstall the game.
Ah well

Delete the Postal2.ini file from your Postal2Complete system folder, then run the game again, that should do it, failing that delete the entire system folder and verify the install with Steam (no need to re download the entire game again).

This.
Seriously people, just give them all your money for Postal 2 as it is in its current form, embrace the new updates they put out and let them make a sequel.
Re-installing for this update, it looks awesome.
hell maybe i wont even piss on the desk this play through out of sheer gratitude.
pffff yeah right.
Hey, by the way guys eons ago the guys behind Eternal Damnation were working a P2 Chirstmas mod called A Very Postal Christmas. The latest beta release of this was in 2007 but it's still done enough to dick around in, but festively.
There's also increasing news that development of it is going to resume very soon!
Hit that shit up down hurr

I don't see any of the glorious recent updates on Linux :/
I don't see any of the glorious recent updates on Linux :/
There is an achievement for playing on Linux so wouldn't that mean the update is on it?
It keeps failing to auto/easy save and I'm not quite sure why. Loving the patch otherwise, game feels very smooth and fun to play.
Re the problems, really sorry 'bout that.
No excuses really but I'll give you the reasons at least. We bit off more than we could chew before getting it out this year as we promised (people waiting on achievements since forever). Lesson learned, should have not tired to do too much at once with the size of the team we had, and didn't have enough time for the sort of QA testing it in hindsight so obviously needed.
That said, we have our bug squatter in hand and are going to hopefully patch out the worst of them by the end of the week, and might even have a few hot fixes rolling out by the end of tonight. Save issues, possible achievement problems and performance are all being looked into right now.
Also, we DO get the crash reports submitted via the 'submit bug report' now, first time since like 2005, so please do shoot those over if you are abruptly escorted to your desktop, we've already batched them into groups for analysis.
And we'll also get the original Steam 1409 build onto Steam at some point, for those that just like it as it was (always was the plan just didn't quite workout how we hoped first night).
Any way enough geek talk, Mike get back here and make a dick joke or something.
The original build is now available on steam if you want to play your old saves! Just switch to it using the branch feature in the game's steam options panel.
Got this weird bug, npcs stuck on a door and the door opening / closing sound was looping

His eyes were moving but he stayed focused on the door.
