Yeah some will have radical circles but the conservative media is over blowing it to stupid proportions. This idea that "unis are far left hellholes" has been around since the 60s and it was just as false then as it is now.

At my college they have bipartisan events in numerous areas of the campus, mainly near places to eat. Generally places try to be as chill and apolitical as they can be. But again that's just my anecdotes from my college.

See how the "gotcha" nature of the poster makes it mandatory for me to put this disclaimer here, though? I'm white, of course I think being white is okay. This isn't coming from the context of /pol/ or white nationalism, it's coming from the perceived necessity of the statement. It's okay to like the color purple, but 10 bucks says you've never heard someone tell you, earnestly, that it's okay to like purple, because no one sees it as being under attack. Whether it's a coincidence, born out of a joke meant to make people embarrass themselves, or actual white nationalism (which isn't nearly as far-fetched as some people here are making it out to be, holy fuck), the narrative is there all the same

I really think one of the biggest fallacies that both white supremacists/nationalists and the far left "SJWs" (or whatever you want to call them) is to equate race and culture/values when they are entirely different. On both sides you have people trying to make the two inseparable, but in different ways. White supremacism, especially modern white supremacism under the guise of white nationalism, wants to argue that the western world has been successful because it is based on a specifically white culture. So to mix other races in would be equivalent to diluting that culture, therefore making the country lose the things that have made it great. On the other hand, the SJWs want to say that skin color is a good indicator of real, meaningful diversity. They make skin color and race the important thing instead of the ideas and culture that people hold. A university might claim, and be praised, for its amazing diversity, even if everyone case from the exact same background, as long as lots of skin colors are represented. IMO, the best way to defeat both, in one fell swoop, would be to stress that race and culture are totally different. I think that western culture is a good thing. I think it's not a coincidence that it's led to the most free, wealthy, wonderful standard of living that humanity has ever experienced in its long history, but I also don't think it has anything, whatsoever, to do with the people in that culture being white.
