what the fuck it's like a fucking DOG
funny you should mention that
New info courtesy of the The Sun (yes, I know, and no one else has the 'exclusive' except the Daily Mail at the moment...) Simon was apparently alive on touchdown, but then the poor bun was supposedly put into a freezer after landing. Why anyone would think it was a good idea to put a rabbit into a freezer, who knows? This sounds like complete incompetence from one of the ground staff, bordering on (hopefully unintentional) animal abuse if you ask me. United deny this at the moment at the bottom of the article, however it does appear he was alive on touchdown. I suppose it could be down to something like lack of food on the flight (or not eating from stress), as rabbits have very sensitive insides and any food deprivation can be fatal.
The hare died at O’Hare.
Are you sure it didn't die Midway to O'hare?
I'll never understand how people can feel comfortable putting their pets into planes as cargo. I'd rather deal with the heartache of giving my dog away (to someone good of course) than send her flying over the ocean in a box. Still, I'm guessing that for 99% of cases it's safe and nothing wrong happens.
I don't care how safe it is, that's a fuck ton of stress and stress can be very very bad for animals Especially rabbits. They especially don't like loud noise. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a heart attack, to be honest
