cancer doesn't give a fuck about how much "willpower" you have
if that's how the world worked cancer wouldn't be a fucking problem.
On topic: I'm glad to hear that it's under control, and I hope it stays that way.

I think people get this post wrong. What he's saying is that fighting something as serious as cancer is hugely a mental battle.
Or in TB's own words:

I think it's pretty dumb to ban someone for a post like that. Let alone multiple bans.

Why the fuck are you blaming the cancer? Standing behind the carcinogens is a big no no especially when he more than likely saw the fucking tumor

Respect to the cancer for not killing TB, and respect to TB for not letting the cancer kill him.

Well the guy said "You only die of cancer when you lose your will to fight it."
By that he kinda sais that EVERYONE who EVER died of cancer, all gave up, none of them fought untill they died, they died because they didnt fight.
Of course mentality has a lot to do when it comes to survivability, you are told you are probably going to die, this will lead to a lot of carelessness when it comes to general health AND mental health, both needed in fighting cancer.
Recently I was wondering how he was getting on. Great news!

lol my mom is dying of cancer because she has given up, nice one dude
Positive mental attitude helps a lot in many medical situations, but it's not a cure all. The most positive of people can and do still die of cancer. Quite regularly.

Maybe you shouldn't take it so literally.
Especially short posts that sound like they came off some jock's 'inspirational' Facebook page.
Is there any actual proof of believing in your own survival weakening your cancer?
Good on ya, TB. Here's hoping you were in for a best two outta three and it stays properly gone.

Mmhm, and some people who just shrug and give in beat it. Cancer is a poorly understood disease that does as it wishes with little warning.
Yea, having a positive mentality is definitely good, and I believe most cancer sufferers have such an attitude, at least initially.
I saw cancer paralyze my mom from her waist down when is spread throughout her hips and pushed against her spine. She insisted on walking, first with one crutch, then with two, then with rollator. Soon her walking became slower and slower, she could barely lift her legs. I removed the doorframe to some rooms to make it easier for her to pass through. But eventually she just couldn't, and finally became bedridden. She was bedridden for almost 3 whole months.
Even at that stage she had a positive mentality. Two days before she passed away I still pulled morbid jokes on her and she was all lucid and clear.
The next she was more or less sleeping all day long.
On the day of her death she was more or less unconscious. She was having "death rattles", I called a nurse to our house. He gave her some injections to lessen the noises. 5 hours later she stopped breathing, I called the doctors, they came and pronounced her dead. Filled in some paperwork, called the morgue transporters, wrapped her up and left.
I pulled the plugs to the oxygen machines and the pump to her bed, which prevented her from bedsores. The silence that followed was just insane.
Positive mentality is good and all, but positive mentality alone doesn't cure cancer. And I'm not surprised that people react strongly to naive posts like that.

Not cancer specific, but the placebo effect is exactly that.

It can help you get along with the symptoms and stuff but it's not going to really hurt the cancer or anything.

Your post is pretty short, and you ask of me to do something, kinda like an inspirational facebook page.
Just saying.

Didn't UncleJimmema end up tearing a new asshole out of someone who posted something like this? I'm trying and failing to find the post. If someone can find it I'd be very grateful.
On topic, I had no idea until now that he had cancer. I'm glad to hear he's doing okay now, and I can only hope that it won't relapse or anything like that.

This is his second time iirc. It had gone into remission but during a checkup they found it had migrated elsewhere. Unfortunately it sounds like TB's going to have a shit time like my great aunt did. She got breast cancer starting in her late 20s or early 30s. It came back like 5-6 times before she finally died in her mid 70s.

So you're saying that I had a lot of will to live at 15 fucking months old, but my uncle didn't when he was 42? Fuck off with that, mate.

Shit that's one hell of a fight. Seeing how she fought until she was 75 I'd almost consider that a win.
I know my great aunt got lung cancer after quitting smoking 25-35 years ago due to her husband also dying of lung cancer. I can't imagine what it's like having something that can kill you so easily always be there in your life.
Incredible. So relieved to hear he's looking at a brighter future.
Not to be morbid, but I was afraid I'd one day get a video in my feed regarding the end of TB, but I'm thrilled to be wrong in that regard!
I will pour one for you John, hoping for a brigther future. Keep on strong.
Hasn't this happened before, only for him to eventually relapse?
And then some stuff showed up in his wife and son iirc
He and his family have had some really shitty luck. Hope this is the start of the turn around.
Glad to hear it, even if I dislike TB himself. Any victory over cancer is a step forward in medicine.

what happened to his family?
Apparently Orion had some weird growth on his ear, but to the best of my knowledge it wasn't anything serious once it was dealt with. No idea what's going on with Genna, though, but she seems ok too.

If I recall correctly she had some sort of polyps or growths in her ovaries or something like that but it wasn't cancerous.
