Since they made it F2P here's hoping for some added support and maybe even new stuff?
I think they just made it F2P just to rub salt in the wound the Lawbreakers guys have.
They just linked this on the announcements for the game
I just started playing it again and wow, if any game deserved a sequel to expand and realize the potential of the first game's core concepts, Brink was it.
Totally. I'd love to see them add in cut features like melee weapons and improved cutscenes.
Okay, what do we need to do to convince them to make a sequel?
I can't even throw money at it anymore

Invent a time machine, go back in time, and have them make a different and potentially successful game instead.
I loved me some Brink, even though I never was able to play online I had a decent amount of fun with bots.
I'm glad to see there's still some love for Brink. I went into it not expecting anything, and unlike all the reviewers who compared it to TF2 or Battlefield I was completely satisfied with it. I was glad to pre-order it and given the chance I wouldn't change that decision.
One of the few game I've bought and been let down by. It had some good ideas and I really wanted to like it but it wasn't all that to play.
Played a bit, definitely something fun there but there is a ton of jank. I can't tell if its the game or the fact that I can't connect to any server under 130 ping though. I'm also apparently too high rank to join several servers up :v:
The only thing I remember about Brink is The Creatures used to set it as their game category when they did their podcast on Twitch.
This game looked super interesting, but it flopped really REALLY hard. Anyone that's played it can see the potential for a fun game, but technical issues and general lack of polished killed it. It was pretty much DOA.
I remember a F2P announcement for Brink a long time ago. Guess they finally followed through.

On the one hand, I kinda feel bad that a brand new release is being beat by a 6-year-old game that completely tanked just weeks after it was originally released.
On the other hand, considering how I can count the amount of times I've heard about Lawbreakers on one hand, they kinda deserve these numbers.
I forgot it caps at 30 FPS in singleplayer only for some reason :v:

cool, i wonder if this will enable users to inject mods. the community could bring this game back from the brink.
Man, I remember really enjoying the free beta. Didn't have much money then, so I was excited when I finally bought it a year or so after release. It was completely dead then :(
Hopefully I can actually play this game now
I mean I always thought it was a decent game with a cool setting so it'd be nice to play it again regardless of how random this is
Decent idea, not a decent game. Massively imbalanced.
They really should have marketed the game as a multiplayer-only FPS, the trailers made it look like the game has an actual single player campaign

i remember being pretty fucking disappointed when it turned out that the final product's "campaign" was just a rotation of all the maps on a server populated entirely by bots
with some fucking audio logs and cutscenes being the only thing resembling a story
at least the customization was nice
Brink was a good game
Shame it was marketed so poorly, people didn't know what they were getting into.
I loved it, unironically, unabashedly. It was a good game let down by a player base who didn't understand the game and devs who didn't know how to sell or keep updating it
I don't know anything about the game other than it's a multiplayer shooter.
How would you describe the game to me?
I still feel bad for making the first megathread here 6 years ago. I was hoping for it to be a good game.
Brink has special place in my life because it was first Free Weekend game on steam that I completed for free, and now it is free.
Brink is okay. It just wasn't a worthy successor to Wolfenstein Enemy Territory. Also the parkour features are only for the light archetype characters, who die in 3 bullets.
All I know about Dirty bomb is that grenade spamming is a core mechanic and its awful.
in a game where only a couple characters have grenades I find that hard to believe
ran like fucking shit on ATI/AMD
this, so much - the game runs at what feels like 25 fps on my r9 290x with an i5-2500k overclocked to 4.4 ghz :v:
The only thing I remember about Brink is The Creatures used to set it as their game category when they did their podcast on Twitch.
If I recall correctly, they talked about that on an old creature talk. Bethesda was stoked about the numbers it pulled on Twitch and twitch was like "lol no it's just these goobers doing a podcast". Then Beth just sent the creatures free shit. They also had a wall in their office with Brink boxes covering it
Man I miss the old creatures
I feel sorta bad that I played for just a little bit and then immediately uninstalled it.
I really feel like I ought to give it a chance with actual players to get my head around it, but it just feels so eugh.
especially cuzza that FUCKING 30fps cap. What the fuck were they thinking? The early 2010s was a dark fucking time.
I remember debating with my friend back in high school whether Brink or L.A. Noire would be more successful, as we were each planning to get one and they released about a week apart.
I am fairly certain I came out on the winning side of that debate.

Well Splash Damage didn't die after releasing Brink v:v:v

That wasn't really LA Noire's fault, though.
When your studio head is charitably described as a tyrant, you can't really go up from there.
Quite new to most FPS games so looking forward to trying this, especially since it's free
