Yeah Rockstar is pretty indifferent towards PC platforms so I doubt it.
LA Noire was pretty disappointing to me but hey it's pretty cool that other people get to experience it. Animation in it is still pretty good and the feel of the game is just right, even if the story and gameplay let me down.
You can't really interpolate video, which is basically what the facial animations are.
That makes zero sense.
I'd assume the mocap recordings are used to set the facial bone's position. Just interpolate the bone position between frames. It might not be as perfect as recording at 60fps but it's better than being stuck at 30fps.

For the type of game that LA Noire is 30 FPS is fine. It's a talky/exploration game with some really rare shooty bits.
http://gearnuke.com/la-noire-boxart-ps4-xbox-one-switch-price/
game costs 10 bucks more on switch. why? because nintendo users never got the game before? the motion/touch controls? ...because it's on a cartridge?
32 GB carts cost more than a Blu-ray. This is why the Switch Tax happens, unless you're under 8 GB you have to pay more which means making it more money.
We need more AAA games that try something a little bit different like LA Noire
i'd like to see them do it again, the facial animations were and still are impressive i couldn't imagine how great it would look if they did it with the technology we have today.

Injustice 2 seemed to make use of similar facial technology, that or their animation team is like unbelievably good

from what i remember from the behind-the-scenes of this game the facial animations are most definitely multiple videos recorded from a ton of angles at once which are then projected onto the face in-game.
I don't know how they do it but from my playthroughs I don't think the face model itself actually moves, it's just that their facial expressions during recording are very emphasized and gives you that illusion.
Anyway if I happen to be wrong then blending the model animation would be a great idea. Then again, if that were possible then someone would have probably modded it in by now. 60fps has been a big demand since that shit came out on PC.

Kinda, though it looks closer to what Avatar used than LA Noire.
I didn't mind the game being 30fps myself due to the nature of the gameplay and it's almost film-like focus as mentioned above. But I got curious and looked over on 60fps uncap fixes on PC, and not sure if I'm just not noticing it well or the animations blend in too neatly, but the facial animations along with the 60fps render doesn't look jarring from each other here.

LA Noire technology for reference

Though there is a 7 year difference in technology
IIRC, the biggest issue with LA Noir's mocap tech was long hair, so that's why every woman in the game has short hair or is wearing it up.

What? No, have you seen any of LA Noire? That was the whole point, it was NOT mocap, it was a recording of a real actor performing their lines that was then turned into a 3d model.

impressive is a bit of an understatement...

Game was pretty decent. Hated Jack though and wish we just stuck with Cole.

What was your point? That is very impressive, the animation still looks really good. Bad acting doesn't really have much to do with their tech.

I wouldn't even call it bad acting. From what I remember, that was a pretty early point in the game.
It could very intentionally have been made obvious, to get players to realize "oh shit. I need to be watching their faces."
Yeah, barring the one with the pink slips, pretty much all the Traffic desk cases have liars telegraphing pretty hard.

7 years old but the mocap it's still impressive

I can definitely tell. Its not horrible, but its slightly unsettling. The illusion is much less convincing, that's for sure. I think locking to 30 fps was the better option, given limitations.
I guess they're seeing if they should make a sequel judging by the port's sales.

I really wish there were more detective/investigation games. Highly underrated (besides ace attorney I guess)
Playing as Roy would be great, but all I want is to play Rusty Finbarr's Domestic Violence Adventures. He was a cool character.

i didnt say it was bad, it was catching such over exaggeration
Digital version for Switch will cost 39.99$ as other versions.

I always hated how they base stuff like that on how a re-release sells. They should base it on the original sales. After all, not everyone enjoys buying a game twice, unless it's really amazing.

That's actually a pretty bad decision, especially since it's been 6 years since the original, which means that the gap between sales and general attitude is a potentially big, unreliable factor. Imagine if it had sold well but over time, people realized that it was overhyped and just not that good. Releasing a sequel then might turn out poorly.
Conversely, a re-release is beneficial in many ways. For one, you have potentially new players who might not have bought the original for whatever reason but who can buy it now. Then, after playing it, news of a sequel sparks their interest immediately. Fans of the original might buy it again for their new system (assuming you bought it on console and don't own it any more), in addition to them spreading word of mouth about this after the announcement, like what's happening now. Of course, the financial side of things is also much better for you. A remaster won't take nearly as much money as a full new sequel and you won't have to sell as many copies in order to break even.
Would I like to see the announcement of a sequel? Absolutely and I would probably buy it on release if it's looking good. I doubt Rockstar is gonna base the possibility of a sequel just on sales of the remaster but I bet it's gonna be a decent indicator, along with things like buzz on social media and online communities. With game budgets having turned into what they have, it's a bit stupid to take a plunge like that when you have other means of gauging interest.

I always knew that the police at the time were assholes, but that takes the cake.
So who's working on the port, exactly? Team Bondi closed shortly after release, where did they find the people who knew the engine?
I think there were reports of Rockstar fixing the game, so maybe some people from one of their studios knows this stuff, but still, it's weird
