I really wish the mods could lock these kinds of threads so only certain people could post, otherwise it devolves into retardation

Events like this time and time again prove that they have a vested interest in spread lies, lies of omission and so much more to shape a tragedy into their benefit. Especially if the perp is someone who overlaps with their belief systems. The far and alternative right are horribly effective propagandists. It's about fucking time people as a whole just started to clamp down on their shit because they've already managed to gain political power and influence the futures of countries by preying on lesser informed individuals.

Half of their beliefs are based on they belief they're being persecuted and "real" news is being shut down.

Half of their beliefs are based on they belief they're being persecuted and "real" news is being shut down.
No matter what we do they're going to shape themselves as "the victims" somehow. So why not just prevent them from even spreading their message in the first place, rather than letting them do so in the name of "balance" and "keeping the forum fair". Mitigate the harm their campaigns can do, minimise their presence in the pubic sphere. It's not like many of the alt-right fanatics on this forum in particular are good contributors anyway. Especially in threads related to mass shootings or whatever where they are usually the first to start blaming "the immigrants" or "the muzzies" or whatever scapegoat fits with the information available.

Do we even have any concrete facts on the shooters political end social beliefs?

Yeah, ISIS officially claimed it which is odd. They don't usually claim BS so maybe he actually did have some Islamic terror lone wolf in him? But, this would be their third false claim in recent months. So it doesn't feel right. Probably not ISIS related.
Do we even have any concrete facts on the shooters political end social beliefs?
Does it matter? It doesn't really matter if he was a leftist, right-wing, centrist, commie or nazi.

https://twitter.com/broderick/status/914801273584709632
It is sad that this kind of trolling got more and more popular. The Sam Hyde thing is years old but every time it pops up. A few of those "missing person" tweets seem to be classical trolls as well. Not exactly sure what is with those seemingly elaborate fake post chains with fake profiles. (Fake Antifa etc.) They are all not hard to disprove and the goal is to get actual people spread them unknowingly. Seemingly picked up by far-right and far-left groups alike as a means to push their agenda. Interesting about those are that they are fairly effective but mostly in the circles that already have a similar thinking. Either way, quite deplorable to abuse the situation for any political agenda, also that people more and more just take anything posted on twitter or wherever for granted. Then again, some people who catch on those far left or far right fakes are often not concerned by the truth, they happily share it because it suits their agenda even if it is false.
You can blow up a fucking cattle farm and smear the fence with "fuck muslims" and ISIS would still claim responsibility

Of course they would claim that, but ain't no proof as of yet
Does it matter? It doesn't really matter if he was a leftist, right-wing, centrist, commie or nazi.
The shooters beliefs will dictate the long term sociopolitical consequences of this horrible event and help us understand why it occured in the first place.
Worst shooting yet in the US. Maybe the silver lining here is that this will FINALLY prompt a real debate on gun/mental health issues. A REAL debate. Can't stress that enough. It feels surreal to have to make such a fuss but its like debates aren't even a real thing anymore in the US.
It's not the death toll that will spark a reasonable debate about gun politics in the US. The only thing thats going to change is if the people in power change. The Republicans(NRA cronies) want to maintain the status quo and maybe alleviate a few laws here and there, and the Democrats just want to get rid of everything all together. Both parties are a cancer to this nation. [editline]2nd October 2017[/editline]
Do we even have any concrete facts on the shooters political end social beliefs?
Not yet but people like this tend to leave a manifesto or some kind of literature about their insane beliefs. I doubt this was a one-off shooting without any sort of real motive behind it.
BBC news are showing an interview with the shooter's brother time of writing this. The women was his girlfriend He has no military background
Man, there's a video of one of my friends running from bullets on Facebook and it's absolutely insane.

Outlawing guns would simply mean terrorists like this move to bombs and cars [editline]2nd October 2017[/editline] Or illegal guns

What a sick bastard. From what his brothers said, he probably gambled his life away and decided to take it out on the strip. Jesus fucking Christ, I just woke up and saw the updated casualties. That makes this the worst mass shooting in US history. I was afraid that things would be bad, but I never thought it would could possibly be this bad.

thank goodness clinton is still here to shoehorn politics into this tragedy
