A lot of people (incl me for a period of time) thought suppressors would decrease the sound of the gunshot like they do in video games but after watching video demonstrations, that myth for me went out the window

Trump actually gave a speech about an hour ago. Very "tasteful" for the lack of a better word. He thanked the Emergency Medical Technicians (E.M.T.s) and Police Officers responding.
EDIT: turns out he's also awaiting the police investigation press conference. No idea if he is going to do another speech after.

I can't imagine what must be going through his brother's mind. He seems awfully composed, but I can imagine that the shock of finding out that your brother just committed the worst mass shooting in history would be pretty hard to digest.

I hate Hollywood and video games for giving people unrealistic ideas on what a "silencer" is.
They don't exist.
It's a [I]suppressor[/I] because it [I]suppresses[/I] the sound, it doesn't silence it.
Just to play devils advocate, a silencer would have at least made him harder to find and would have caused more confusion and panic because most people don’t know what suppressed gunfire sounds like. On some videos you can see the muzzle flashes and on some firearms a silencer can greatly greatly reduce a firearms report, especially paired w subsonic ammo.
But I also agree that Clinton was way wrong in trying to start that debate already.

even if it dropped the report to 0dB, sustained automatic fire melts suppressors in very short order. she might as well have said to ban dogs with as much relevance as it had to the situation
by the time people started realizing what was going down the suppressor would have already been long gone.
