Cartels don't operate in a brutal slaying of completely un-involved civilians.
It's one of two things, either a fringe group of domestic terrorists, or a faction cell of foreign terrorists.

One of the cops confirmed there was a dead woman in the Tropicana.
This was after the first shooter had been taken down.

it is a situation i wouldnt wish anyone in, the fact that everyone's panicked as hell and could cause a stampede is also unsettling and would increase the death toll further

They weren't too far away if they were shooting into a crowd. That and you can hear the rifle being shot and rounds impacting almost immediately. Realistically I'm plotting that the shooter was elevated, and about 150-300 meters away.

That...there's no way that's accurate.
Considering how much chaos was going on in the beginning. I'm not keen on believing the first numbers.
A lot of the "confirmed shots" that they had said over the police scanner in the beginning have turned out to be nothing. I think there was just mass panic.
Still curious about the EMTs taking fire though. Surely that can't just be panic?
It's really impossible to know numbers right now except for hospital statistics.
