It's been a while so I don't remember Hive biology so well but Oryx started off as Aurash, a female Wizard, and as she rose to power and got pumped full of darkness she grew into a masculine form and started using male pronouns
I bet nobody made a stink about Oryx being trans because the kind of people to do so don't have the patience or attention span to collect all of the Calcified Fragments and read the Grimoire
