Please for the love of god please none of these people have kids.
Please.
If they aren't punished then their names should be released. I certainly wouldn't want to employ any of these kids in the future, nor should they even be allowed in any positions of responsibility.
The kids were at the park that day smoking marijuana
would wacky tobacky cause them to act the way they did?
I was always told that, depending on which state you're in, it was sketchy to help people out because if they die you can be held responsible.
That's clearly not what's happening here...
That's not really the case anymore. All states have some form of Good Samaritan law that protects people from liability when providing aid in an emergency.

No..? You don't become a psychopath by smoking the devil's lettuce.
can't blame them really, black people can't swim anyway..can't help him
(User was banned for this post ("Racist Shit" - UncleJimmema))
damn dude you sure got us with ur controversial humor
I would have pushed them in and forced them to fish his body out, they watch him die, they can pull his body out. Sick fucks.
I don't believe in evil but shit like this really challenges my conviction on that sometimes. How can you not do anything? What kind of an upbringing must you have that “Let him drown, what the heck." even crosses your mind when looking at a drowning person.
Here's a gofundme for the funeral. The money will also go to his two daughters, ages 11 and 6.
No..? You don't become a psychopath by smoking the devil's lettuce.
Although it can turn one quite oblivious, I'm pretty sure these kids are twisted too.
Welp, I can only hope those kids get hit hard by karma and no one helps them when they're on fire or hit by a car.
Yeah I don't get it, here "Failing to provide aid" (most commonly in context of car crashes but applies to other calamities as well) is a criminal offense.
What about people like me that would surely panic and be really impractical?
how depressing. having lived in florida i don't blame them for not wanting to go in (those retention ponds are filled with danger, lots of them have gator population), but i can't believe they just sit there and laugh while a man is dying. not even the thought to call for help or the police, nothing. how do you even become this desensitized to the point where trying to get help isn't even a consideration because it's easier to just watch them die? literally what the fuck
What about people like me that would surely panic and be really impractical?
I am quite sure you Danes have somewhat similar law for this sort of stuff too but here is Finnish one as example from 'The Criminal Code of Finland Chapter 21 Section 15 - Neglect of rescue'
A person who knows that another is in mortal danger or serious danger to his or her health, and does not give or procure such assistance that in view of his or her options and the nature of the situation can reasonably be expected, shall be sentenced for neglect of rescue to a fine or to imprisonment for at most six months.
So simply put as long you call for emergency services for example you are acting according to the law.
This is so horrible. Looking at that video I just want to dive into that fucking water and save the guy...
It would be sad enough just hearing about his death but to be able to SEE it like that and not be able to do anything is frustrating beyond words. He didn't deserve to drown when help was so close. Depressing, his poor girls.
I've pulled a few people out of the water before, even stopped one person from killing themselves in their car with exhaust fumes. They're all still alive to this day and happily going about their lives. I can't imagine just standing there and watching them die instead, that just blows my mind.
idk why people get so butthurt over this stuff.
shits funny imo (dont ban, im just stating an opinion)

If you know that your opinion is so bad that you have to ask to not be banned for it, it might be time for a change.

How can you find funny not helping someone that can't almost swim by themselves that has two daughters when you can perfectly help him out and prevent him from drowning funny? I don't find anything funny on that. And even more as I've got a friend whose brother died by drowning on a lake.
EDIT:
Most importantly, would you want to be drowning when 5 teenagers are looking at you and laughing your ass off and which help you? How fun would that be? Because it sure is according to you, isn't it?

Were you one of those 5 people?
I always tell my self never to be some twat standing around with their phone and recording stuff when someone seriously needs help.
What's funny about it? It's disgusting in every way
There's nothing funny about this, he's either trying to turn it into dark humor or trolling. There's always a few of these for every thread about something terrible. There's probably similar sorts of posts in the Chester Bennington thread, but I've not really looked through properly.

You don't understand why a human life matters?
You don't understand why you should help a fellow life in trouble?
You don't understand why laughing at somebody and recording them while they slowly die is horrible in every single fucking way?
You are just as bad as these kids, i hope you grow up before you cause the death of a life that's actually worthwhile.
These kids deserve a looooong stay in a mental ward. 14-16 is too young for jail but jesus fuck these kids need their psyche shattered and rebuilt at their level of current sadism.
For the kids to turn out like that something tells me the parents aren't exactly saints, either
Just because someone is clearly messed up in the head doesn't mean their parents are the same.

You know you might get some disagrees for saying 14-16 is too young for jail, but remembering how much of a fucked up mindset I had at 16 (nevermind 14) due to mental illness, I have to agree with you. A mental ward or some therapist is needed for these teenagers, I unfortunately can't advocate jailtime for people of this age as much as some people would want to. I'm not saying that they have a mental illness per se, but I think they're too young to be held 100% responsible for their actions. At that age, a lot of their actions are heavily reflected by people around them and parents (which can be good or bad)
Just because someone is clearly messed up in the head doesn't mean their parents are the same.
But normally people learn from their parents, as they're normally the people they mostly stay with. That, or bad influences they have as friends or other family.
not attempting to help someone dying should be a criminal offense if you're capable of doing so.
As someone in their age range myself, this is pure lunacy. I have nothing but contempt for them.

It is in a few countries and a few states if I'm not mistaken.
