This seemed like a fucked if you do fucked if you don't situation. Perhaps if cops weren't so trigger happy people wouldn't feel the need to pull a gun on them to defend themselves.
You realize if the guy pulled a gun on the cops they would have been justified to shoot him in this situation right?
Like, what, you're gonna draw down on cops when they pull you over?
In what scenario does pulling out your firearm on a cop end well for you, at all??

I think we citizens need to look out for each other, if you see a cop that's about to waste someone who's already subdued you step in and try to deescalate. Honestly the laws should change to reflect the current climate, citizens should legally be allowed to defend themselves and others from trigger happy police. If police are going to act as executioners then they should loose their legal privileges of protection against retaliation.
I honestly understand that being a cop (especially one in a 'potentially dangerous' situation such as this) can be terribly difficult and that officers have to be hard and assertive to an extent but it's really difficult to find sympathy in this situation - he went out of his way to be a cunt and that was without shooting this man.
I'm glad this cop's name out there because at least in that sense he is fucked - he won't have an easy job finding work elsewhere and I wouldn't be surprised if there were some out there who wanted to take action against him for his impulsive action which cost a man his life.

An incredibly retarded insinuation tbh - stepping into a situation like this is likely to get you either in a bed of legal issues or put in harm's way. Not all officers are like this cunt.
Shit like this makes me want a gun just to protect myself from cops, I know not all cops and not even a majority are like this but the chances of having to deal with an officer like this aren't zero percent and that's too fucking high. In any other developed country in the world I can interact with police and not have to worry if the officers going to get bored and shoot me.
I normally don't condone murder but I wouldn't mind if someone capped this fucker.

I'm not defending the officer, and I can honestly feel your concerns, but to be quite honest, and with all due respect, you've lost fucking mind if you think that'll work. Assuming you are able to out-quickdraw a trained police officer and deliver a killing shot, and aren't promptly turned into swiss cheese by three other officers, what are the chances you're actually going to use it """correctly"""? How will you know you're going to actually save yourself or if you're being a dumbfuck and shooting a cop that would've let you live?
And another thing, let's assume you're in this exact scenario. By the time you've realized "oh fuck oh fuck he's gone apeshit and will shoot me" it's too late. This guy got shot innocently reaching to his waistband, what the hell makes you think you're going to have a chance to actually draw, ready, aim, and fire a gun in that timeframe? I'm not going to rewatch and time it, but I have a strong feeling it was less than a second between him reaching and getting shot. There's no fucking way unless you're The Flash that you're going to ready a gun in less than one second, let alone get a shot off that will hit your target.
... This judge should be in jail for life as well as this officer. He's obviously a corrupt sack of shit and needs to be punished for trying so fucking hard to get this video barred from the evidence.
Seriously, these judges need to be in prison. WIth how much power they have, abuses of power need to be treated very harshly, this is an obvious case of evidence suppression.
The trouble is that from a neutral 'legal' perspective he's not wrong - public discussion/hearsay can potentially influence a juror's opinion and distract from established facts.

Sorry but this is a poor idea - stepping into a situation like this is likely to get you either in a bed of legal issues or put in harm's way. Not all officers are like this cunt.
Hence why the law should change, if the officers cant be trusted to have citizens well being in mind then who will? When you put human beings in an "its you or me" situation like this what do you expect to happen?
The trouble is that from a neutral 'legal' perspective he's not wrong - public discussion/hearsay can potentially influence a juror's opinion and distract from established facts.
I think the fact that this guy did nothing wrong other than scare a soccer mom with his exterminator hose and got executed for it is a pretty cut and dry case but apparently not. I didn't even see him reach for his waist the bodycam footage made it pretty clear the officer wasn't going to let this guy walk away giving him increasingly more difficult orders in hopes he slipped up, and I think the exterminator realized it too near the end.

The judges were not suppressing evidence; they wanted to prevent the media from spreading the body-cam footage until after the trial was over, not hide the footage all together.
If that footage was passed around non-stop and showed on every news station, it would be insanely hard to get an impartial jury put together, and have them remain impartial throughout the trial since there would be so much public discussion. They're completely justified from holding that footage from the media until the trial was over.

Tone down the edgelord for a second and think rationally. Do you honestly think it's a good idea to pull a gun on a cop just because you don't want a speeding ticket? Then when that cop wastes your ass, he's completely justified.

You're judging a police force of several million officers off of a handful of nasty incidents. You're asking for civilians to be allowed to kill or hurt police officers because of one specific scenario.
I honestly can't get over how dumb this idea is. Theres over 1 million cops in the US, and you want people to be able to kill cops, based on their untrained judgement, because of 3 or 4 bad apples a year? Get real dood.

No id pull a gun on a cop because I don't want to fucking die because I couldn't recite the entire declaration of independence backwards while hopping one one leg with my arms in a dab pose while hopping over to the officer giving me these orders.

The guy had a pellet gun, not a sprayer, in his room which was mistaken for a rifle by some soccer mom. I do pest control for a living, and we don't get special pellet guns that are branded specifically for pest control. They're literally just pellet guns.
And the guy very clearly did reach for his wasteband. The shooting was not in any way justified, but you're skewing the facts now.

Then you would get shot (because you're an idiot who pulled a gun on a cop) and that cop wouldn't spend a second in court because he shot some dipshit who pulled a gun on him.
Whats the best case scenario for you? Spending the rest of your life in prison because you killed a cop? You're being intensely retarded right now.

God, please with the hysterics. Police officers enforce order in society and are a core tenant of civilian protection.
You can believe in lethal force reform in America without spewing this anarchist edgelord shit.

Sorry yeah I know its not a solution, but I've seen liveleak videos of cartel executions that were basically the same shit, getting victims to do some asinine shit in hopes they are let go while they start sobbing and begging for their life only to get wasted, the only thing missing is the executioner in this vid isnt laughing about it afterwards, at least not on the cam footage.
This is why body cams should be a legal mandate on a federal level
because even with this level of evidence cops get away free
[editline]8th December 2017[/editline]
If this was happening at a hotel near me I'd have thought it was a fucking mass shooter

Oh GOD you don't seriously think people walking up trying to talk away a shoot out with the police is something that should actually happen, do you?
The last thing I want is some sovereign citizen tier rando coming up and trying to """"defend"""" me when I am interacting with cops for ANY reason, jeez.
Given that illegal immigrant who murdered a woman with a handgun was found not guilty on the state level, but guilty on the federal level, I believe this officer should be tried federally after being found not guilty on the state level. This is some shit.
"There are no winners in this case, but Mitch Brailsford had to make a split-second decision on a situation that he was trained to recognize as someone drawing a weapon and had one second to react," Piccarreta said. It's pretty hard."
Fuck you, if you were in prison right now everyone here would conclude justice served
Your 'split second decision' could have been prevented if you went over to him like you should when he was on the ground and cuffed him. Instead you gave him a bunch of really stupid orders, great job.
The commands they were giving him were so jumbled by the end of it too, and the move that ended his life didnt even seem intentional. It looked like a muscle memory movement for securing his shorts. If it was me I probably would have gotten shot too because im absolutely terrible under pressure

4:26, he is clearly reaching back for something after repeatedly being told to not put his hands behind his back.

funny story; he didn't have a gun on him

Nobody is ignoring it but there was no reason for it to get to the point where he made the exact mistake they were waiting for him to make to unload on him
on top of that they didnt find a gun on him so

:why:
Yeah, the cop should just put approach the allegedly armed and dangerous man, he should sling up his gun so he can get his cuffs out. Sounds like a great idea.
like listen to that audio and try to convince yourself the guy behind the rifle isnt just WAITING for him to make the wrong move
The cop didn't know he didn't have a gun.
Yeah, the cop should just put approach the allegedly armed and dangerous man, he should sling up his gun so he can get his cuffs out. Sounds like a great idea.
they had him on the floor with his face down and hands interlinked on his head. if he had a quick enough reaction to shoot him for reaching for his waistband he had enough time to shoot him if he tried to get his hand from his head to his waistband
Yeah, the cop should just put approach the allegedly armed and dangerous man, he should sling up his gun so he can get his cuffs out. Sounds like a great idea.
That's literally his fucking job lmao, and he failed it by giving an insane list of orders
Set your hand on the mans hands and do it by force if you have to, but don't shoot him after giving him impossible orders.
That officer was clearly just waiting to kill these guys, he wanted to shoot them from the very start, just waiting for them to make one mistake that he could justify in killing them. Even if not, the random orders he gave them was just...what the fuck? Why not just keep them with their hands in front of them on the ground, walk up, cuff them!??!
I wish that post about him running for office and winning for being "tough on crime" was a sick joke, but since Joe Arpaio is still pretty popular you can get away with anything in their eyes.
Yeah, the cop should just put approach the allegedly armed and dangerous man, he should sling up his gun so he can get his cuffs out. Sounds like a great idea.
You realize the normal apprehension procedure here would be to order him to the ground, tell him to spread eagle, and have one officer cover with his rifle while the other approaches and restrains him?
Nobody is ignoring it but there was no reason for it to get to the point where he made the exact mistake they were waiting for him to make to unload on him

Make the exact mistake they were waiting for him to make?
You mean do the exact thing they said they would shoot him for? It's practically suicide by cop. Why the fuck would you do the exact thing you are being told you would be shot for.
The cop didn't know he didn't have a gun.
the man could also have had a knife. Telling him to crawl wasn't going to prevent that, he'd have been closer if he crawled or they walked over
it was a worthless command and they killed him.
