4$ for this is pretty fucking insane

The bundle is so dirt cheap there's nothing wrong with getting both.
I haven't played this game, but I managed to get me and my friend the Franchise edition.
Its practically $4 for the base, American Nightmare and the Misc DLC that comes from Collectors edition.
If anything this sale is a huge steal for the uninitiated like me.
Didn't like American Nightmare that much
but even when running the game at sub 30 on a shitty computer back in the day this game was tense and amazing
reinstalling now that I have a far superior computer

Probably one of the most underrated games of its generation tbh

I'll give American Nightmare another shot. I think the reason I didn't like it was because I went into it thinking it was a sequel. :v:
Shame they didn't put it up for free like Codemasters did when music licenses in Dirt 3 and Grid ran out
They can't legally do that, the point is they have no license to distribute the music at all.
Great time to buy up extra copies for future trade/resale at exorbitant prices
i didn't feel disappointed by the ending because i was kind of expecting it tbh. they wrote themselves into a hole, and i couldn't see a way for them to get out of it without a vague non-ending, or some shyamalan tier twist. it does fuck with the replayability factor, but all the fun mystery-solving and the ominous atmosphere that got me to fall in love with the game in the first place is still there. i think i'll give it a few years before i give it another try, though
Alan Wake: American Nightmare isn't the end of Alan Wake.
Hint: He's still trapped in the lake.
Hot diggity, the entire franchise for 84 rupees (USD 1.30) :joy:
I spend more on auto rickshaws :v:

It's more of a companion piece than a sequel. I think I liked American Nightmare better as a whole although it gets pretty campy.
I want to think the campiness was an intentional factor, but I'm still slogging through the original Alan Wake. Maybe I'll give it another go now that I can get American Nightmares for cheap.
After giving American Nightmare another shot, I have to say I really appreciate what they did with the combat. The gunplay is improved and the weapon variety is sweet.
I just wish it was as polished as the original game, but I guess you can't fault them since it was a quick spinoff.
tbh American Nightmare is a really great action game. It just falls a little flat in terms of story compared to the first one.
Hopefully we get an actual sequel soon, and maybe updated versions of the first game and American Nightmare that sort out the copyright issues.
I have to admit, the games caught my interest before, but I had never gone out of my way for them. With this I bought up the $4 bundle just to assure I don't get to miss out.
Alan Wake is still one of my favorite games of all time. I just love everything about it. The atmosphere, the story telling.
American Nightmare did get repetitive but mechanics they had in place were pretty interesting.
Also the Alan Wake 2 prototype video was promising.
Just linking it, because in the video it does spoil things that happen very late(like the ending) in Alan Wake
So I advise anyone to watch it AFTER beating Alan Wake

They're also on sale on GOG if you want them DRM Free
