Holy shit I had these
I had the Secret Communicator, but years of finding it in a closet tucked away I had no idea where it belonged to. Fun Fact: Check some of your McDonald's toys and go to ebay. Some of them kept in their packages are worth some dough.
someone got stabbed in LA over the sauce http://rasec-wizzlbang.tumblr.com/post/166194762668/smashbike-smashbike-smashbike
I don't know if a random person's snapchat counts as a reliable source.
It was a search term geolocation tag for that area Snapchat auto sets them up for special things happening in one area Example: [t]https://i.imgur.com/OlLvnMs.png[/t] It is multiple people’s snapchat
This shit has nothing on the curry dipping sauce in Europe... If McD's is introducing a sauce to the Americas, it should be this [t]https://puu.sh/xT5Sq/2806723ad7.jpg[/t] [editline]8th October 2017[/editline] Thanks, [t] for not interpreting the "rotate" flag
Why do we not have this yet?! its riot time [editline]9th October 2017[/editline]
someone got stabbed in LA over the sauce http://rasec-wizzlbang.tumblr.com/post/166194762668/smashbike-smashbike-smashbike
Fucking cavemen.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BZ90tQnFHsi/?taken-by=chairman_marr From what I can tell it's some asshat trying to be ironic, since the video is clearly taken in a McDonalds that either never had the sauce or long after the sauce rush died out since there's no crowd inside or outside the store. Nevertheless, ironic shitposting is still shitposting. Especially if it involves you making a complete fool of yourself in public.

This is the worst capitalism has to offer us.
Why don't they just keep making the sauce? There shouldn't be anything stopping them from so.
People are already selling it on eBay for over $300. Just make your own damn sauce lol.
I've heard one went for $2,200. :why:
My grandma collected the entire Inspector Gadget toy collection when McD's did that. I don't even remember why. Just because?
I also collected the entire Inspector Gadget toy. It was a pretty sweet toy.
Why don't they just keep making the sauce? There shouldn't be anything stopping them from so.
Because this meme is going to die by next month
Because this meme is going to die by next month
Doubt it, people have been craving the sauce since April
If McDonalds had actually done the run right, the outlets would have enough sauce for the customers who wanted it lol, but organization failed and here's the result - a half baked rollout of their meme sauce and many angry customers
It was completely purposeful to do it like this. Drive up demand by keeping the supply low. Get people pissy and riled so when they call for more, you can look like a hero for delivering it. This has all been one retarded publicity stunt that all these R&M fans fell right into. This meme culture is the fucking worst.

This meme culture is the fucking worst.
I was gonna suggest this. Bad publicity is still publicity and if riots happened over a dipping sauce from McDonald's, you bet it will end up on the news, hence more publicity. McDonald's saying, sorry we messed up and will make it better for everyone soon, is a way to make them a hero in this situation. Who knows, maybe they planned this from the start.
I don't mean 11 million definite buyers, I mean 11 million people who probably want this sauce in general, at least to try it. Because pretty much everyone who watches that episode is going to be made at least curious about it to some extent. So basically, at least 11 million people (probably lots more due to hearing about this bit from the internet and friends) have heard of this and are curious about trying that. You gotta account for how many people out of those are gonna actually show up to try it. McDonald's sorely underestimated if they even knew how big the pool of potential buyers was.
I think you're still way over-projecting. I think the vast majority of those viewers were probably people (like me) who watched the episode and went "ha that's a pretty funny idea for a gag" and had zero desire to actually pursue it. The stories about riots and shit are probably just a case of a very vocal minority. I had the briefest twinge of mild curiosity about it, but I was not even close to actually visiting a McDonald's just because a cartoon man told me they had a tasty sauce.

Mcdonalds does it *every year* with the whole "wwwwoah THE MCRIB IS BACK FOR A LIMITED TIME" Things are changing much less than people pretend they are.

You can imagine how that went down. It wasn't good :v: [editline]9th October 2017[/editline] Sorry, I should reiterate: it was between multiple campuses.
Honestly, these days I hear more people talking about how much they hate the Rick and Morty fanbase than I hear from the Rick and Morty fanbase. The "I hate Rick and Morty fanbase" fanbase is rapidly becoming more annoying than the Rick and Morty fanbase in my book. And the Rick and Morty fanbase can be fucking annoying.
Vocal anti-fans usually end up being worse than whatever they're complaining about.

Rick and Morty one-off joke sauce is meme culture. People dont freak out over the Mcrib like these spergs have over this sauce, and McDonalds also doesn't limit the supply chain of Mcribs
As a McDonald's worker in the UK, I'm really really glad it didn't come here. Customer Care is a nightmare enough as it is :v:
Okay, in that particular place they had 70, but about a 1000 people came, lmao. All the places down here only had 20. So it's like they knew that was going to be popular there but still only gave a little bit more. What were the execs smoking???
Probably "Let's test McDonald's control over the population."

I just wanna try it, goddamn. Let me get some nuggies with the meme cream.
That damn video. Is this what being stabbed in the gut with a knife feels like?
That damn video. Is this what being stabbed in the gut with a knife feels like?
Only if it's a 1000 degree knife vs your gut to make the meme go full circle

Product tie-ins, references to [obscure item] in pieces of media that make that obscure item interesting again, it's all been happening forever. This is literally not in any way a new thing.

This is literally not in any way a new thing.
Ok. and whats the product it's tying into? Oh right, meme culture. Actually, it's not even tying into a product. It's not "Rick and Morty Sauce" or "Mulan Sauce" or anything else. It's just Szechuan sauce brought out explicitly to sate the meme. The sauce is meme-culture dood. It would not have been brought back were it not for the rampant meme culture behind it. Quit pretending like it's a normal product tie in or a normal limited time deal like the Shamrock shake, it is literally meme culture.
