shit like this really makes humanity show its true, batshit insane colors
I am pretty sure this is an american thing. Unless you got evidence that this is happening anywhere else in the world.
Ok. and whats the product it's tying into? Oh right, meme culture. Actually, it's not even tying into a product. It's not "Rick and Morty Sauce" or "Mulan Sauce" or anything else. It's just Szechuan sauce brought out explicitly to sate the meme.
The sauce is meme-culture dood. It would not have been brought back were it not for the rampant meme culture behind it. Quit pretending like it's a normal product tie in or a normal limited time deal like the Shamrock shake, it is literally meme culture.
You can keep stomping your foot an double-dipping on those rate-and-replies, it won't make you right. Shows referencing products that they weren't paid to do has been a thing since shows were a thing. People emulating/trying what their favorite character in so and so media has been a thing forever. This has nothing to do with meme culture at all.
Since you're not even attempting to actually back up your point, I don't see a point in attempting to respond any more.

I didn't know Techo Viking was a shitposter.

Can you show me where on the new McDonalds sauce it references R&M?
Can you also show me how a meme being taken advantage of by McDonalds isnt Meme culture?
And can you stow the pretentious self righteous attitude? We're talking about McDonalds dipping sauce and meme culture.
Imagine being an overworked underpaid mcdonalds employee getting yelled at by 20 dweebs at once because you dont have any of their meme sauce
after working there for a few months i can actually relate to this
I want out of this meme hell dimension we somehow stumbled into
they reference portals and cross dimensional shit in their promotional materials, it's a very not-so-subtle nod to rick and morty
But its not Rick and Morty Sauce^TM. Its not a promotional buy in, its a buy in to meme culture.
In my opinion it would be hypocritical to condemn one fandom for doing cringey/horrid shit and then act like the fandoms your part of are pure and have done no wrong and you act all smugly superior. This certainly isn't the first time that something like this has happened related to fandom (some incidents in other fandoms are even worse). Plus this kind of shit happens even outside of fandom/geek sub-culture, just look at Black Friday and all the shit that goes down all for reduced price electronics.
Also about the stabbing, I can't find any sort of legitimate source saying that someone got stabbed over Szechuan Sauce. You would think the MSM would be all over this shit. So either it outright didn't happen or the reason the stabbing happened wasn't for the reason some might think.
I'm so glad there aren't any McDonalds' within a reasonable distance to me.

Aren't there places in Europe where people riot over a game of soccer?

But Ball is life my friend.
what does it taste like?
Generic teriyaki sauce

It's called football you american!
I saw someone point out that it is oddly appropriate that on Columbus Day, white people would try and fail to acquire Asian seasonings.

The crazy riots are more of a Latin America thing. Football violence isn't really as bad as it was back 30 years ago, at least in the UK. There are a few notable exceptions such as the the shit that went down between English and Russian supporters in Marseille last year and that was caused by unsavory elements deliberately going out and starting fights to cause chaos. As a general rule the worst you'll experience at most Football matches these days are a few offensive chants and that's about it.
Not really comparable to a pasty white tide starting shit over meme sauce tbh
Aren't there places in Europe where people riot over a game of soccer?
that generally involves copious amounts of alcohol and drugs though
this shit doesnt
Aren't there places in Europe where people riot over a game of soccer?
As opposed to LA where they riot if the Lakers win?
