Actually, I haven't seen this.
You might here an "Oh my god!" followed by a "What happened?" or screaming or something, but never do you hear it from multiple different people repeatedly for minutes.
Nah there's plenty of videos on the internet with witnesses exclaiming, "oh my god" repeatedly in high stress environments.
yeah I wouldn't rate this 'winner' at least a dozen civilians are dead and reports are saying that Russians are intentionally targeting civilians.
sources, for the intentional targeting of civilians?
yeah I wouldn't rate this 'winner' at least a dozen civilians are dead and reports are saying that Russians are intentionally targeting civilians.
The only reports that I've seen that are claiming that are biased to say the absolute least. Source?
yeah I wouldn't rate this 'winner' at least a dozen civilians are dead and reports are saying that Russians are intentionally targeting civilians.
At the very least, I'll wait until there is actual proof, like aftermath recon pictures and whatnot, that these attacks are actually hitting military targets, and are not simply a "feel good, bomb them all" mission" that will only bring more support for the other side
It's a catch all exclamation, it can mean shock, dismay etc. In this case one of celebration.
Its kinda similiar to how we can use 'Holy Shit'.
supposedly the pilot's (used) pistol

I thought the Stechkin wasn't in use in the Russian military?
I thought the Stechkin wasn't in use in the Russian military?
Nope, still used, but mostly by FSB, internal affairs and some parts of regular army.

I figure pilots might get them because having the firepower capability of an SMG with a quarter of the space would be very useful for pilots. If you go down and need a firearm, you're going to need as much as you can get that will comfortably fit into your jet, and more than likely you'll have to go with whatever can fit into your flight suit since whatever's in the cockpit will be speeding away from you toward the earth at several hundred miles per hour as you either shoot or float in the opposite direction.

APS is extremely old though, now we have OTs-33 Pernach filling the CQC machine pistol role. This might as well have been an old Chechen War trophy.

Su25's are pretty neat

That's true but I doubt they've taken them all out of circulation. The Russians love to use things until they're truly done and past their prime. Just look at their continued use of Cold-War era jets and helos. And I don't mean "cold-war era model numbers" I literally mean that HINDs that flew in the Afghan conflict are still in use today.

It's not even a Russian thing either, here in the UK a lot of police armories had Webleys and Enfields on stock until the nineties IIRC, some rural firearms patrol armories might actually have them still.
Can I not sound racist and simply state the fact that using a single sentence to express 15 different emotions is bloody fucking confusing
[editline]4th February 2018[/editline]
I just realized we do the exact same thing but with "fuck". I just did it.
Can i still not be racist and just say that i find the sound of both expressions to be annoying as dogshit. I just find nothing more annoying than a rabble of tweens squeaking "fuck" and "dope" in the streets. with the added bonus of that squeaky little hyena laugh which i've delivered myself countless times at that age.
The only "Allahu Ackbar" i ever hear locally come from a few groups of teens who have taken to screaming it at people in the streets while forcing a mobile camera into their faces to get some kind of reaction/validation. Little tweenaged edgelords (whose parents were too shellshocked to even learn the local language, let alone raise their kids in any capacity) fishing for a reaction and grinning at each other for some extra edgelord cred. Playing into the stereotype we're all shaming each other for buying into.
Shit. this just sounds weird, but it's something i've been observing a few times now. Every time with different kids.
In general, i'm just fed up with a lot of words that i used to abuse as a teen. Nothing moral about it. I just got tired of the sound of the words more than the meaning. "Righteous!" also just sounds like a special person sneezing... Fuck i'm becoming that perma-grumpy old guy.

Fucking disgusting, will they ever change

To be tortured, killed, and to have your body paraded in the street is a fate I wouldn't wish on anybody. Especially a pilot that was just following orders.
sources, for the intentional targeting of civilians?
The only reports I've ever seen suggesting this are ones straight from the FSA and other affiliated groups, and quite frankly I wouldn't believe a group linked to Al Qaeda for a second. I'm sure civilians have died in Russian air strikes, same as civilians have died in FSA shellings, but I don't for a second believe the Russian's would waste their time bombing civilians, that's just propaganda.
So it has pretty much been answered how the pilot went down...He suicide bombed with a handgrenade and took at least three with him(No Gore or anything).
Reminds of the one Russian SF who got trapped by ISIS, and ended up calling an airstrike on himself.

Hardcore, hope he took a few of them with him
Im suprised he didnt ram them with the plane at this point.
best way you could possibly go in that situation
way better than being slowly beheaded by some scum with a dull butter knife
"This one is for the boys!" (translation is slightly incorrect, I think)
Honestly - that's cheeky as fuck.

He was on the ground at this point.

More-probably Turkish-provided, given that Turkey had a huge military convoy go to the town it was launched from just a few days before. First source I could be arsed to find, Chinese state news or some shit.
Say what you want about Russian soldiers, but they refuse to die by the enemy's hands. Reminds me of an article from a year or two ago. Some sort of Russian special forces was trapped and surrounded by ISIS militants. He ordered an airstrike on his location. He was rewarded (post mortem) the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

I saw a video (with an claiming otherwise, that he had called in the airstrike on the enemy and that he was requesting Evac. Hard to differentiate between real and fake.
So pilots are issued hand grenades? Kind of surprising actually.
So pilots are issued hand grenades? Kind of surprising actually.
Yep, but these ones are among the safest ones.
If they're not primed, you can safely crack coconuts with them.

At 6:00 they show what each pilot carries with them on a mission. Notice the 2 grenades.
