so what will the penguin do if the cardboard rejects him as his mate
Wait patiently for her to change her mind. They always come around eventually, right?

This thread has given me more chuckles than I expected entering it
Strange to think about. To us, we see a human girl with penguin features. What if to him, he sees a female penguin with human features...
You go, little penguin. We are all rooting for you
Someone has to root for him because he sure as shit won't be.
I dont really know much about anime so whats a "otaku" and why did they put the cardboard cut out in the pen and what is the significance of the character? I assume the character is waifu? (which is wife in japanese??) is the penguin mistaking the card board cutout for another penguin? also is the penguin called grape or grape-kun?

There's an anime with animal girls which is popular for some reason that she's from. Waifu refers specifically to characters from anime that otaku like. The penguin is called grape, kun is a name suffix usually used for boys (or girls if you are an old man), it's normally left off once translated but some people are terrible people and leave that shit in for some reason.
I dont really know much about anime so whats a "otaku"
Pretty much a weeaboo but native to japan.
why did they put the cardboard cut out in the pen and what is the significance of the character?
It says right in the op, it's a marketing thing with an anime, which apparently is animal based so they tossed cutouts into the respective pens.
so he's the penguin equivalent of a furry?
Depends on the ratio of human to animal features. Refer to this chart for reference Although considering he's not a human, everything is turned on its head so yeah he's dangerously furry.
Update: Grape-kun has passed away
Anime kills. This is a sign to all.
legends never die
Atleast he managed to be with his waifu and even meet her VA. RIP Grape-Kun.
Anime kills. This is a sign to all.
I will fight every person who cracks a line like this. He found his wife, his goal, his purpose and you dare to step on his flippers to get your zingers and funnies. His favorite TV show died, and with it his wife, and taking acceptance with the loss he too left this plane, is it not any different than a man feeling grief and passing early when his real wife goes to heaven? He was more human than me, you, and we. He didn't mate either so he was a true wizard to the end.
Kadokawa has gone too far.
Tears in the rain
Perhaps he was the most human of us all
Update: Grape-kun has passed away
good night sweet prince.
Perhaps he was the most human of us all
he was never afraid to embrace the things he didn't understand.
Grape died the same way I want to go out: Old and in a tuxedo.
looking at your 2d waifu
