But why even expect them to get that right? Is Cats and Dogs 2 a shining example of action comedy?
B-movies are a no brainier for Hollywood. If they get that mindset when making a Just Cause movie, then it could work in the way Warcraft almost worked.

The action's fun because you're actually playing it. Watching Just Cause wouldn't be much different from watching a Michael Bay film.

Like I saw San Andres but I can't remember anything that happened besides lots of buildings falling apart and paul giammati becoming increasingly more nervous
that is strangely the thing I most remember about that movie too.
and trying to remember which other movies I'd seen Carla Gugino in.
Forget Stargate Atlantis and Game of Thrones, Jason Momoa is known best as Aquaman.
IMHO if Antonio Banderas was younger i would say he should do it.
If they go for an older Rico, Antonia Banderas would be perfect
Honestly Rico (as of JC3) is nearly a b-tier marvel super hero. Ability to glide at any time with his magic wingsuit. Infinite grappling hook. Infinite parachute. Can slam into a building face first at 70 MPH and just go "Ow!"
There have been very few, if any direct adaptions of video games to film that are even remotely remember-able.
