We're in the era of removing features from iPhones to make more money on proprietary wireless buds or adapters if people don't want to switch, and making Mac Pros cylinders for style rather than practical purpose. They're pretty much not allowed to leave, to the point that the factory even has special "meeting places" where you can spend time with your loved ones/significant other for a duration.

And if for some reason they dont fail, they will quickly become obsolete. Take a look at Louis Rossmann's youtube channel where he almost exclusively repairs Apple Laptops. It really gives you an insight on how poorly engineered their products are.

Over half a grand to fix. Don't buy apple, please.

I also used to own a macbook, but this was before they went with the unibody scheme. It broke apart within a year of use as a student and upgrading it from 10.4 to 10.5 to 10.6 brought it to a crawl. Though, as far as the US factories go -- wouldn't this be something for Apple's PR to announce?
