check /r/hardwareswap, I got a 1080 from there for 385 a week ago
Yeah thanks but no thanks. Finally landed one of these this morning. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-137-118 :excited:
And then there are people with 1060’s for $300 and 1070’s for 400. The place is great, but everyone with an nVidia card is retarded with pricing
I sold my 1070 for 400 to get the 1080, it all boils down to the current etherium mining meme.

Now I've checked the price and it's 320€. I'm very pissed.
Oh my god, i bought a zotac 1080 amp extreme edition half a month ago before this happend and paid 563€ it goes for 800€ now i should sell my GPU
1080 is no good for mining. Retailers are dumb, that’s why the price went up. No miner will buy that 1080.
Sadly for cards, I think bitcoin has started to recover now and is on the way up again, so expect prices like this for some time.
Late but nobody seriously mines btc on gpus anymore, it isn't going to affect the price one bit. Everyone uses asics, which can mine much faster whilst using a fraction of the power.

Nowadays people generally mine alt-coins with the hope they will increase in value so they can cash them out for BTC.
I bought my GTX 1080 a couple weeks ago for $581 (mind Czech Republic's 21% VAT) and I was pretty shocked that very same card is now $648 in the same store. I really feel like it's been a good deal.
Up to $700 now. [editline]10th July 2017[/editline]
1080 is no good for mining. Not to mention all the missing RX 580s that don't get to gamers basically selling GTX 1070s (and by the above, 1080s) instead.

Seeing 580s hitting $400 new over here. This needs to :stop:

I ordered a (specific) 1080 a good week ago (1070s are equally or more expensive anyway...) and two days ago got an email saying the expected shipping date has been moved by four months :suicide: Looks like it's completely impossible to get a (very) fast card without paying a ridiculous amount of money right now. There are still a few stores that list it for almost 100€ more, but even those have late expected shipping dates. On Amazon it's at more than 1k€ if you want one quickly. [editline]13th July 2017[/editline] I wonder if GPU scalping is a thing now. I think I saw order volume limits on one website already.

Micro Center has gone full retard with GPU pricing, and it says on their site to see an associate for bulk purchases. I bet they offer some kind of bulk discount, and people can turn around and sell their 5 GPUs at 130% store price.
