Honestly, what do those small channels who do not surpass the threshold lose, its not like they are earning more than bare cents per video. Less hassle for youtube/google adsense accounting. Trust me, the channels who do put out effort and time to get out of the bucket list of videos, will easily surpass the minimum threshold, sooner or later. I mean, what's up with everybody turning youtube into money machine? In the good old days, everybody made videos for fun. I understand that you can make a living now but people who do make living from youtube almost always started from making videos for fun.
A few people earn good money from YouTube so then every guy and his dog starts putting out videos with the presumption and a sense of entitlement to be paid for it, and live the nice "easy" video maker life Pretty much goes for a lot of the internet now, expecting a monetary return for anything you do. [editline]21st February 2018[/editline] If you were hit by this after previously being partnered, there is a very high chance you were earning sweet fuckall anyway, the previous requirements were too lax and everyone got comfy in them
Iirc Adsense is still going to payout your money even if it's under the $100 threshold if you've lost your monetization capabilities.
Yeah I can't pull funds because I haven't hit the threshold still.
I was actually with a network, so I was getting paid every month though paypal, so I personally won't lose any money I've earned so far, but I won't get any more in the future
Might want to check your contract about what happens when you loose the ability to make money, by getting kicked out youtubes partner program. Most networks will terminate your contract with them if you loose partnership, hope it isn't some nasty network that has more stuff in the fine print in such cases. I still find it bullshit that they do the condition retroactively, long time partners should have kept their status, maybe give them a longer grace period at least, like 1 year starting the email.
Correct me if I'm wrong so your expecting YouTube to owe you money despite considering the following factors: + admitting you didn't even put effort into your content + using/taking advantage of their platform to share your videos for free Hmmmmm...
Did you join to bump a 8 month old thread...?
Its the one actual employee from Youtube, joined to help untarnish the brand’s name.
I might have not have any idea about your current situation nor do I intend to denounce you but putting all your hope and money into a online platform that has been known to drastically change monetization rules is perhaps not the best of ideas.
Yeah, you don't have any idea of my current situation. Great job quoting a post from 8 months ago
For a second I thought they changed it again to fuck with the little man even more, luckily they're not beating that horse, yet.
