it's pretty easy to forget how involved Todd was in the gaming community beyond just submitting records, so i guess it's no surprise a lot of people are pretty distraught over this news (well, the ones that didn't outright refuse to believe it at least)

The funniest thing about this imo is all of the legitimately impossible scores he's posted, like having a score ending in 9 when the game can only display a 5 or a 0 in the last digit. It's baffling that nobody called him out on that shit until now.

A good part of the reason that nobody said anything until now is that they really couldn't. Based on what I've been reading in all the dispute threads ([URL="http://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/176004-Dispute-Jeremy-Young-Arcade-Donkey-Kong-Points-Hammer-Allowed-Player-Billy-L-Mitchell-Score-1-062-800"]by the way one of Billy Mitchel's DK scores is under dispute, should be a riot[/URL]) there was (still is?) a ton of corruption and just general mismanagement and incompetence going on at TG. It wasn't until halfway through last year that the community was even able to dispute scores at all iirc.
I'm sure there were people back then who were like "that score is fucking fake!" but when they brought it up were scorned or just outright ignored.

i really wish he would just to summarize the many embarrassing shitshows that made up that dispute thread. Nobody wants to read that 271 page clusterfuck (i only skimmed like 80% of it and it was agony) but anyone that does will pretty quickly see that TG's brief mention in their closing statement that the investigation could've been "handled better" is the understatement of the century lol. If there's anything they should be remembered for from all this it's not that TG ultimately made the right decision, it's what it took to force them to make that decision, and what the people pushing for that decision all along had to endure to see it through.
and also that Omni has the patience of a saint to have kept his sanity and constantly replied to every question that got raised throughout that thread while constantly dealing with people (and TG staff) trying to accuse him of shit like secretly just wanting to promote a book he never even mentioned throughout the dispute lol.

I feel like Apollo Legend or someone had analyzed that photo previously and found it to be photo-shopped because certain parts of the pixelation near the score didn't line up. Imma look for the video real quick.

that was another photo showing a very close up picture of a 5.54. there was a thread on reddit dedicated just to that photo i posted and nobody had ever seen it before [url]https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/7u7ycp/is_utoddrogers64_actually_todd_rogers_aka_can/[/url] nobody still knows for certain if that really was Todd, tho personally i can't imagine it being anyone else since that photo would've come up sooner otherwise
