I'm cautiously optimistic but also disappointed that we won't have a third directors vision in this set of movies, JJ makes really good popcorn movies so at least it'll be watchable
People (including myself) have such confidence in Rian Johnson but imagine if TLJ is actually just total unrefined garbage

if the supposed plot leaks about [sp]the force tree and cycle of reincarnation and other stuff[/sp] are true, it could very well be a disaster depending on how it's handled
not to mention that weird gopher thing they showed a photo of
honstley tho, I can forgive TFA on the basis of being a soft reboot. They made the point that it was made partially with people who were born in the late 90s in mind
Anyone else feel like Rogue One had a distinctly Quentin Tarantino feel?
Anyone else feel like Rogue One had a distinctly Quentin Tarantino feel?
That would have required characters that people cared about to be in the movie
oh for fuck SAKE why not Rian again aaa
ok to be fair expecting Rian to immediately go back into a super massive project was a bit optimistic and JJ is still better than Colin but still, got my fuckin hopes up
I think I remember seeing that Rian was offered the job but turned it down

Nah. I want that mythical bounty hunter film to be like that though. Have Boba, IG 88, Bossk and Dengar in a hateful eight style western.

Pretty certain those leaks are pure bullshit. Stick to Making Star Wars for leaks.
J.J. is a good choice if you are trying to play it safe. With so many SW directors turning out to be problematic it makes perfect sense to hire him again.
I don't think I'll ever agree with this, because at least Rogue One was a touch more original, The Force Awakens was just a rehash of two far superior films with nothing new brought to the table.
It was quite literally just the same old shit sold to you again but slightly different, it was the safest damn movie in the universe and I respect Rogue One more for at least trying some new things.
TFA was competent, Rogue One didn't even manage to do that.
"Let's do an edgy war film, but add whacky monk characters and cameos up the wazoo that completely rip you out of the experience. Oh, and don't forget to not have even one compelling character in a film where the story doesn't matter since you know what happens at the end". Lucasfilm tried to do something new then just said "nope" half way in
If Episode IX ends up being Return of the Jedi I honestly wouldn't mind. I think some of the scenes in ROTJ trumped everything in the previous films. The scenes with Luke, Vader, and the Emperor are some of the best Star Wars moments of all time imo. If IX can capture that feeling in some form then I have no complaints.
I've said before if it ends up being a mimic I'll probably put it under rogue one
I'll still like it but I really hope it isn't a repeat word for word like before
[editline]12th September 2017[/editline]
I'm ok with a soft-repeat if it breaks form a decent amount or shows signs that the next will break form
though even then can't exactly just BTTF three movies at once
That's pretty much what Star Killer can do though
it sucks a sun up with a giant straw and then sprays it out
Honestly they could've appeased the fans with some KotoR lore by having the empire remnants search for the remains of the Star Forge and build a new one from it. It would help explain how they are capable of having so many ships and weapons despite decades after the civil war.
If they can build a death star inside a fucking planet they should be capable of that at least.

That would require knowledge of the lore
Wasn't Colin Trevorrow set to direct this one? Abrams would be a huge improvement.

They had 30 years of unrestricted access to 1/3rd of the Galaxy and additional support from Empire sympathizers within New Republic. While Starkiller Base is heavily implied to be[sp]Illum, a planet which was heavily mined by the Empire and known for being rich in kyber crystals (which powered both of Death Stars' lasers).[/sp]
Get over it.

not at all, where'd you get that from
Anyone else feel like Rogue One had a distinctly Quentin Tarantino feel?
Maybe if we compare it to Death Proof because how bad it is
I'm still hoping for that huge twist with Luke teaching Rey ways of both sides of the force how some people argued here could happen with what Luke saying that it's time for Jedis to die off.
Or Rey turning evil.
Honestly anything but "unlikely person becomes extremely good hero and saves everything".
Is it too much to ask for a Kyle Katarn movie?
He still exists somewhere right?
Kylo Ren didn't kill him and Jan off too did he?

Kyle Katarn does not exist in canon. yet. much as i love the character, i wish fanboys stopped wailing about it.
He will always exist in our hearts and our steam libraries
