Just kind of curious why is there a distinction being made that he is an immigrant in the title? :v:
Not to mention it just seems irrelevant/not part of the article to begin with.
15 times? Jesus Christ, and here I get grilled when I fly Stateside every three months just because I'm travelling while brown with a beard.
It's also really sad that hospitals would choose not to waive medical expenses for circumstances like this, but then again, the state of affairs when it comes to America and healthcare is poor in general. It boggles my mind (and this is a simplistic view, tbh) that there is such a large (to my eyes atleast) apparent divide in the local community that one side would willingly get together and club money for such a service, and another refuses to acknowledge the benefits or even consider socialized healthcare because they don't want to let other people leech off their money for their healthcare problems. Allowing a small child to die for lack of money, or live only to bury his parents under a mountain of debt is not far off from the comparison of being in the middle ages and dying of a septic cut or dysentery. Apart from the immigration issue, this is something very real that needs to be addressed.
Legalize safe drugs, release everyone who was in prison under drug convictions, plenty of room then. Plus increased tax income.
I'm pretty sure that prisoners can't just leave if the crime they've committed is decriminalized, but I'm not certain. I think there's some sort of appeal they have to make. At any rate, the revenue from one (1) citizen does not pay for the costs of holding one (1) prisoner, and you'd never get Mexico to agree to let a foreign country detain their citizens indefinitely. If you're looking to start a war, sure, great idea. If you're trying to get them to pay for a massive wall that'll tank their economy, you're going to have to look for some other solution.

I mean I think we would have all assumed that to begin with unless told otherwise. Not to mention it just seems irrelevant/not part of the article to begin with.

Huh, wait, zoom and enhance

Something seems off about this, but I can't put my finger on it.
Oh, I figured it out:

I know everyone's got a Tudd hateboner and all but can we at least read and make connections with our zingers before posting them? I mean, it's not even the same situation. In your article the original wording was "Pa. Pastor" and then you changed it to "U.S. Born Pastor" as if his nationality was important when in reality the article was just explaining where in the world it was happening. If we start talking isolated cases here I'd say you're the one who's trying to push some agenda, because there was no reason for you to change the wording from "Pennsylvania" to "U.S. Born" unless you were trying to conserve characters but in that case why didn't you just say "U.S" instead of making a big deal out of the fact that he was born there instead of just committing the crime there?

This is Facebook 40+ year old levels of "I don't like them so I'm not going to bother looking into the situation at all" nonsense, and this is coming from the most liberal democrat motherfucker in the world.
It's a good thing his sources break the rules of overly editorialized titles so he technically isn't.
But hey man, I'm just reporting the news. No agenda. A side of the news that I don't think other facepunchers expose themselves to. No agenda. Thread still stands unlocked so apparently it's fine.
Honestly if you're deported once, you shouldn't ever be the fuck allowed back in.
Sorry, you come here to follow the rules, you don't get to dick about and then come back when you're punished for it.

how about you mods get concerned that there's a poster with a shitty agenda that everyone hates on your forums. instead you defend him tooth and nail. this is like having shitty cops.
Even BBC mentions the same thing about deporting him 15 times:

I consider BBC significantly less agenda oriented on American news.
It's clearly a relevant issue and actually matters. Because what do you do? When does someone draw the line on situations like this? How three, four times deporting the same guy didn't warrant a crack down is beyond me. Is this some exclusive, rare case? Doubt it. Shows there's a legitimate problem with how illegal immigration is handled if situations like this can arise.
And there is nothing the US could have done to prevent this from happening despite what people think
A local radio station around here has a weekly segment dedicated entirely to illegal immigrants driving horribly, complete with the sounds of a car horn playing "La Cucaracha". :v:
On average most people do not more then 1000 dollars in their savings account.
Put this into perspective an ambulance ride can cost on average 1500 dollars. ER fee is like 300, then the doctor bills you too.
Then you have towns like mine where if you have anything more severe than a broken leg, they have to air-vac you to Lubbock on their helicopter, which from what I've heard is $35,000.

Maybe you should go read the sticky my man, get a refresher on the rules.

as much as I disagree with just about everything Tudd stands for, a dissenting opinion is a good thing. The last thing this place needs to be become is a liberal echo chamber. Ad hominem will only entrench his ideas.
With all that being said, it's sad that the family can't afford paying for their kids treatment.

It's incredible that the facepunch mod team actually takes free speech seriously (since they're not obligated to) and allows people to post any opinions, as long as we're not being dicks to each other. I disagree with Tudd on pretty much everything ever, but I don't want this place to be an echo chamber.

Better border protection, considering this guy wasn't an 'overstayed his visa' alien? Imprisonment of illegal aliens after a certain number of deportations? More active investigation and sweeps? More active intervention in Mexico, and turning our nation-building aspirations to somewhere it'll help us?
I don't find it particularly difficult to think of hypothetical measures to help prevent situations like this. 'Nothing can be done' is basically just 'I don't think we should do anything'.
