Thanks for looking out for us PC players, Microsoft. We appreciate it. Still not buying your console tho
So we're expecting Crimson Skies on Win10 with online servers and matchmaking right MS?
After all these years, i'll finally be able to play Midtown Madness 3 on PC
Blinx the Timesweeper please Microsoft.
The closer we get Metal Wolf Chaos on PC the happier I get
Don't you think that the likelier option will be MS just letting us purchase the games again in the Windows Store?
It will certainly be the most popular option as OG Xbox games aren't exactly that common anymore, and they probably don't want to restrict the service to only those who have the discs.
This all makes me wish I still had my old Xbox library. That said, I will not hesitate to get Dead or Alive 3 and Fuzion Frenzy again if they release for Xbone/PC.
would this mean halo 1 with og graphics midtown madness 3????!!!!
TBF, Halo:CE PC is much better than the OG Xbox version considering its piss easy to mod and the recent GameSpy patch still allows MP after the GameSpy shutdown.
Jet Set Radio Future on Pc, baby!
TBF, Halo:CE PC is much better than the OG Xbox version considering its piss easy to mod and the recent GameSpy patch still allows MP after the GameSpy shutdown.
Not to mention the PC version had the Fuel Rod cannon and flamethrower
Honestly if you can just insert the original Xbox DVD into your PC and play games right away through a legit emulator then im sure a new market of second hand games will rage one. Kinda like the revival of vinyl records, you can use digital music for much easier access but there is something about collecting those large records and to just spin some records, i'm sure i'd start searching for some original Xbox games if this were to happen
you would need a special dvd player though. I possibly foresee microsoft selling such an accessory though. A USB cd drive if you want to play xbox titles on your windows pc. would certainly be an interesting move
That's awesome and all but....Why Duke controller? Why not just use this one instead? [t]https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7f/Xbox-s-controller.jpg[/t]
Make the Microsoft Store worth using by bringing a perfectly working emulator to Windows and selling 360 Games on the store, at a steep discount if your linked Xbox Live account shows you've played more than 24 hours, maybe?

It's a shame since I think I still have bunch of discs around (Amped, Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, Crimson Skies, Burnout Takedown, Galleon etc.) And if they have gall to charge high prices for downloads...
So either the XB1’s drive can go both ways or we can’t use original discs anywhere.
I heard they confirmed that you can use original xbox disks on the Xbox one, it reads the disc, identifies what's on the disc and downloads the upgraded game for free instead of actually running the game itself.

I can't remember, it's been ages since I've last hacked my xbox and played around with this stuff.
would this mean halo 1 with og graphics midtown madness 3????!!!!
I'd love playing MM3, especially if it allows better resolutions, since the original was a jagfest.
TBF, Halo:CE PC is much better than the OG Xbox version considering its piss easy to mod and the recent GameSpy patch still allows MP after the GameSpy shutdown.
The graphics look way worse on the PC version though.
The graphics look way worse on the PC version though.
How about when you make it run at high resolutions, force 16x anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing, and add a nice 90-100 FOV cherry on top ? Intel says no
Intel carefully protects its x86 innovations, and we do not widely license others to use them. Over the past 30 years, Intel has vigilantly enforced its intellectual property rights against infringement by third-party microprocessors. One of the earliest examples, was Intel’s enforcement of its seminal “Crawford ’338 Patent.” In the early days of our microprocessor business, Intel needed to enforce its patent rights against various companies including United Microelectronics Corporation, Advanced Micro Devices, Cyrix Corporation, Chips and Technologies, Via Technologies, and, most recently, Transmeta Corporation. Enforcement actions have been unnecessary in recent years because other companies have respected Intel’s intellectual property rights. However, there have been reports that some companies may try to emulate Intel’s proprietary x86 ISA without Intel’s authorization. Emulation is not a new technology, and Transmeta was notably the last company to claim to have produced a compatible x86 processor using emulation (“code morphing”) techniques. Intel enforced patents relating to SIMD instruction set enhancements against Transmeta’s x86 implementation even though it used emulation. In any event, Transmeta was not commercially successful, and it exited the microprocessor business 10 years ago.

Intel says no
Microsoft is a titan in the software industry, so I'm sure they could make a deal, and it would definitely be a closed-source thing that wouldn't threaten Intel's IP in any way. Windows Store/UWP means all the program data is encrypted, so reverse engineering basically won't happen without a source code leak/heist from inside.
How about when you make it run at high resolutions, force 16x anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing, and add a nice 90-100 FOV cherry on top ?
Still has the massive problem of animations being at a fixed lower frame rate which was fixed in the Master Chief Collection version, it's very jarring.
Not to mention some broken shaders.
How about when you make it run at high resolutions, force 16x anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing, and add a nice 90-100 FOV cherry on top ?
You're still missing a lot of the graphical features that made Halo so gorgeous.

The way the xboxs dvd discs worked is it still was pretty much a normal DVD but when you put it in anything but an xbox the disc index is just like "bro im just a video disc" and only the video file is there. The xbox drive ignored that and read a separate index for where the game files were.
