But they don't need to do full emulation. The AMD processor already has the Pentium 3 instruction set in hardware, if not most of it. If anything, the most they will have to emulate/translate is the Nvidia GPU, which is probably the actual difficult part, and usually where Homebrew fell flat. There was a working proof of concept running one Xbox game on a standard PC, it just didn't make it very far. The CPU is already not a big issue, beyond making sure timing and speed is correct.
Besides, I doubt Microsoft would have announced it if there were legal issues. They aren't really oblivious to licensing issues.

I imagine it's closer to a VM anyway
Besides, if this meant anything why didn't they go after MS in 2005, when they made an Xbox emulator for 360?

This is more of a debate towards Intel trying to prevent x86 emulation on Snapdragon chips, which is currently a direct competitor to Intel due to how it succeeded in the mobile space. Microsoft is producing editions of Windows 10 that can run on ARM processors that are fully capable of emulating x86 windows applications.

Yes please! With Sega saying they want to bring back old IPs and Microsoft discussing this, I feel like it might be a possibility. I hope so!

Seeing as how the original JSR is already on Steam, unless there is some sort of legal boundary still in place I see it coming directly to PC. That may go for a lot of games from the Xbox/PS2/GC era, but remember, not all games will be able to be played on XB1 or PC, only the ones MS approves.

Windows Store/UWP means all the program data is encrypted, so reverse engineering basically won't happen without a source code leak/heist from inside.
This isn't really true. If your local computer can decrypt the data (which it must), then you are able to extract the unencrypted data.
Is that the source code? No. But reverse-engineers are very good at what they do.

We've had dlls made that dump Halo 5 Forge's content, it works when you open the game, instead of it being standalone and reading the content externally, since as you say the computer has to decrypt it for it to run, so it's dumped when that's possible, and by replacing application functionality.

Kinda wish it didn't tbh also the one on display looks just as greasy as my old Duke did when I was a kid. Don't eat chips and game kids. :v:

I really wonder what it would actually add instead of sucking up the battery harder and perhaps being distracting.
That said i fear it will be expensive as fuck considering it will be a limited run.

I’m fairly certain this is 100% wired with no battery, and I imagine the screen isn’t in the consumer version.

Yeah it said detachable cable so i guess its just for when the cable breaks you can plug a new one in. As for the screen i think it stays because it is mentioned as a new feature for the controller.
Imagine, Dreamcast emulation complete with the VMU screen…
Believe it or not the DC was the inspiration for the Duke controller
