I don't think it was that particular burglar who robbed him all thirteen times but he just happened to be unlucky number thirteen at the time.

I don't think it was the same person but rather 13 seperate incidents.

I don't think it was the same kid every time, m8
So I hear :v:
Yeah it makes more sense to just happen to be the 13th, but shit, is there like some sort of burglar union with a list of current robbable places that they were passing around? Because 13 fucking times has to be some sort of record
What is the point of this post
The usual "make a(n unfunny) joke and proceed to try and throw in some last-minute half-assed on-topic in an attempt to not get banned for off-topic/terrible post/whatever other reasons that might crop up"
I used to get banned for not stating my intentions, like people didn't get jokes or sarcasm and then they went OMG ARE YOU SERIOUS? so now I do that.
And half-assed your ass. PTSD after killing someone is something very real.

in some places people mark houses or some where near a house to indicate if its worth robbing or not. they have a symbol system that covers things like "lots of valuables", "family", "nothing valuable", "armed", etc.
can we make it a law of internet discourse that in order to criticize firearm and self-defense laws, you're required to actually know what the laws are and what they pertain to first?
you are speaking from a "what it is" and they speak from a "what it should be" point of view. Even if the laws were clearly stated, the man would still be a monster in their view.
"Racial epithet"? That's new. Thank god they didn't write "nigger" I would have been triggered for life if I had to have seen that word with my own two eyes.

I am going to need a source on that, because of a few things.
1. Most robbers are complete morons.
2. A widespread sign system would easily be discovered by the police due to easy access and again idiot robbers getting caught who would gladly blabber to get out of harsher punishment.
Most groups that rob keep to their very tight knit circle or solo due to desperation and the fact of trust is very hard to come by in those environments. People who talk get caught and to have an intricate sign system placed on houses you gotta talk a lot.
I mean, you assume the worst of anyone robbing your home. Definitely double so when they have a gun on them. :v:
Got exactly what they deserve in this situation.
Burglarizing your home. Not robbing it. You rob people, burglarize dwellings.
It's a pet peeve. And the news is just as bad at it.

At first I thought I remembered this straight out of oblivion or skyrim's thieves guild, but funnily enough it looks like he's not kidding.

I can't help wondering if he was robbed 13 times or his home was broken into 13 times. The first time it's robbed, they take some stuff. Then you replace as much of it as you can. They rob you again. You replace more stuff...who would replace the stuff 12 or 13 times? I'd think by about the 6th robbery they got everything worth taking, so what we're they coming back for?

His pain medication. That's what a lot of old people have and it's easy to sell or get your fix.
- snip that joke was probably in bad taste.
Poor old man. He did what he had to do. The robber was armed with a gun, so no wonder his life ended with a gun.
Poor dude. The kill might be justified, but that still doesn't mean you won't feel guilty or shaken up over the act of taking somebody's life. Nobody won here.
The cops told our neighbors that if they pressed charges, they couldn't guarantee their kids safety in school. Our neighbors immediately moved.
This bothers the hell out of me on multiple levels...

I didn't even think of that, but yeah that fits. That's the one valuable thing he'd have to get a constant supply of- medication.
I feel for the kid's mother. She probably knew he was going to end up killed, and he did. Still, the old man did what he had to do. Nobody won here. I just hope the mother can forgive him and the man can have some sort of help to cope with what happened.
