To me it seems like they just wanted to force patients to be legally required to get their remedy from one source. It seems pretty simple: Make a synthetic version, outlaw all other versions, get very rich. The interesting thing about this to me is if anyone can make the argument that using the natural option is so unsafe that it needs to be illegal. Why go to all this effort so synthesize such an easily renewable resource?

The synthetics weed you find on the streets (K2, Spice, etc) is different from lab-made controlled synthetic substances. Spice gets people addicted and killed because it's not regulated and nobody really knows what chemicals go into it.

That article seemed comparable to the one I posted but facebook's auto-thumbnail was super misleading and the people sharing it definitely thought it was about that spice shit. Also side note: Where I live there's a common term "Fweed-head" because typically if you meet someone who smokes that stuff they're too far gone on it and act like a crackhead, will rob you for fweed(spice/k2) money etc...

The only difference is the way it is drawn, but the atoms and the bonds are the same. The double bonds in the benzene ring don't matter, as its resonance stabilized. Google search reveals both molecules have identical structure
