Enough least they trying to change their policy on Homosexuality. But only Church will permanently refuse change is all Eastern/Orientation Orthodoxy denominations.
The Catholic Church will never change their stance on gay sex or gay marriage. The only thing Pope Francis advocated was to not be an asshole toward gays because they're gay, which is part of the larger "don't be a dick to people in general" idea that Christianity is suppose to be a large standard bearer of to begin with.

But whatever, If get more older (around my late 30s or 40s), I likely convert to orthodoxy myself by joining in Greek Orthodox chapter, Orthodox Church in America or some uncanonical/unofficial North American Orthodox Church.
Generally from what I've seen with people who are strongly Roman Catholic is that gay people are tolerated but they're against gay marriage for obvious reasons (bible says no) and thus gay sex since sex out of marriage is a no no (also the bible says no as well). I remember I had a bible with little factoids in it and one of them was a hypothetical scenario involving someone who caught AIDS (implied via gay sex) who was still accepted in his community until he died. I always found that kinda uplifting in a weird way. Both reject the Protestant concept of Sola Scriptora and Sola Fide. The Roman Catholic Church even recognizes all 7 of the sacraments the Orthodox branch preforms as valid, while only recognizes two sacraments of any Protestant branch (lutheranism and anglicanism may be different, though I don't recall off the top of my head).

Not many within the church fudge the rules here and there, unlike protestants and evangelicals where fudging the rules are why they exist.
Make sense because they are the original Orthodox church before other eastern European nations established their orthodox churches and their patriarchates.
