The guy you quote has 300 more hours than you. Besides, you don't even have a basic argument compared to his. All I see is you playing out your game hours compared to him never mentioning but rather than the idea behind it.
To me, this just seems indicative of an overhaul of these maps like they did for Train and Dust II, but I don't understand why they were removed from the game when they could just as easily been removed from the competitive queue.
Who cares
Its all about cs_compound
Compound was the shit, they need to add it back

So what? Dude's arguing that everyone who isn't too happy about the maps being removed are "griefers/hackers" or "have no idea what they're talking about", that's the whole point of the image. 300 hours more doesn't mean much when we're talking about having wasted upwards of 3.5k hours on css/csgo.

Ok, I'll go more indepth:
Valve has done what "they think its best" in the past and it ended up just as well as you'd expect: older versions of HL2 left broken for ages, CS:S's 4fun communities having to hack away the game to at least make their older content somewhat usable (due to the orangebox engine update), etc. It's just not fair to have people generalize everyone like this just because he's a 1337 csgo player who knows better than everyone else.
And like I said before, I love(d) to play the classic maps non-seriously with friends. The lack of balance/meta lends itself greatly to just winging it and being 100% experimental with the way you approach the game. Sure the maps themselves are not very high quality, but the core gameplay of csgo is so strong that even if it doesn't play as expected, it's still a fun experience, and it's not fair that I can't have that anymore just because people were boosting or whatever bullshit.
Again, it's not like Valve's matchmaking experience is a serious environment, it's absolute trash compared to any other third-party service even on the proper maps. If I'm going to play seriously, you can bet your ass I'll be 5man-stacking on stuff like faceit.
I'm just going to say this; reddit had a thread a month ago about how dust2 had a little tire prop that you could shoot around and how the guy misses it in the new dust2, and 3 days later they add a fucking soccer ball into the map. Thats right, if you are mad about the map being removed go write it on somewhere else without trying to axe Valve for no good reason because apparently a prop in a map was more missed than the removed maps. Scale that minority into yours because youre just nitpicking at this point. If youre this mad all you have to do is find 9 man to play your vertigo or italy with you and create your server.

Plus the game is already swarming with unused maps and the fps loss is getting bigger and bigger; i dont want the game to reach 21gbs level of local files into it.

Imagine 300.000 people asking for small things in the game. You just cant please everyone.

Most people on this thread that are furious about this wouldn't even play the maps if they got added back because they don't play the game anyway.
It's why I'm not sure why they are so mad about this, apart from the minority that did actually play these maps but it's in Valve's best interest to satisfy the majority of the players which is the competitive aspect.
This needs to be upboated somewhere on reddit for sure, valve doesn't seem to care about facepunch anymore.

Sorry if i mentioned reddit too much, but as much as i dont like some of the threads there about the game, valve developers answer the questions there the most.
Also i will never forget how they almost butchered Semmler's career. Poor guy

If you have absolutely no QA and related, then you can actually spend time adding prop footballs to appease to meme threads, sure, but that doesn't mean it wasnt a dick move simply removing the maps from the game. I'll be waiting to see how they'll proceed from here, but I'll lean more towards being negative due to being burned previously by their "we are making it more competitive!!" moves in the past.
And the FPS loss has nothing to do with classic maps being there or not, it has more to do with the fact valve was sloppy with their maps/engine and now they're stuck with a game that is wildly inconsistent in terms of performance.
CS:GO is boring, surprised it still has as many players as it does

The difference between someone with 2300 hours and someone with 2600 hours is negligible, not sure why you bothered bringing this up

Eh. I wouldn't say that, Valve do tend to optimize the new maps quite a bit.
It's just that they add a lot more detail and use models more often nowadays, comparing the new dust2 to older maps makes this very obvious.
Though he is wrong ofc on the amount of maps effecting FPS, they won't. That might effect boot up times, but your FPS should be just fine regardless of the amount of maps.
Well, CSGO is in a weird spot due to Source 2 isn't it?
The new dust2 has some weird displacement issue where a gun can fall through the map. It may be due to them using new Hammer and porting it to old engine and that causes some issues. Not confirmed, but speculated.
My guess is they want to move to Source 2 soon.
also, I'd say CS:GO is very alive and I wouldn't say it is going to die off soon. Look at other AAA game devs like EA - Star Wars Battlefront is very multiplayer oriented and 2 years later they don't give you an update with new things, you simply get a new full-priced game you have to buy. And they also get more money from microtransactions instead. Compared to Valve, CS:GO has been getting updates for like 5 years and has a lively community, tries to listen to what players want etc. Much better than what others give you.
it's retarded because there's no reason to remove shit from the game and offer virtually nothing to replace it (yeah, they added agency to competitive, but big deal, the operation ended, and alongside all the operation maps gone, they removed a bunch of maps from the base fucking game lol)
for all of you crying that the maps aren't competitive and nobody plays them, there's nothing stopping you from playing dust2 all day. sorry i actually want to have fun than play the same boring shit 24/7
there's no point in literally REMOVING them from the game. the player base is larger than ever, so there's no issue of never being able to find a match on them. you'll get matched with either people who want to play them, or the retards that don't understand how to select maps on a queue and complain about getting a map they don't want to play
oh, but people could boost and get global on those maps!!!! and? it's fucking matchmaking. if those people would have queue'd for any other map, they'd just lose. they get a picture next to their name that doesn't mean anything, big deal. how would that affect anyone?
removing them serves no purpose whatsoever, all it is is literally getting rid of content that had no disadvantages to existing
This may sound stupid but I think the maps on Page 2 would be played more if all maps were merged into 1 list. It took me 4 months before I realised there was another page for the Competitive maps
The removal of the bad maps made it easier to get matches on the decent ones because they are more visible now. I can get a match on Office just as fast as Mirage now.
what did you just say about aztec and assault
Assault is super imbalanced but kinda fun. Aztec is a piece of shit map where Ts choose between getting funneled and sniped going through the double doors, getting funneled and sniped running down the bridge, or going through the water and getting sniped with a height disadvantage and no cover.
EDIT: Also CSGO Aztec has the weird post processing where it looks like the screen is smeared with vaseline

Sure if you spend those 300 hours looking at knife skins in-game, but 300 hours of actual aim and movement training/practice is a lot.
my 5 cents, but if you guys miss those maps just because you played them few years back when you played css or whatever, and didnt care about them for most of the part in csgo, why would you care right now that they've decided to get rid of those? i don't like that they've removed those from files, but it's like whatever, it's not a game changer for anyone (expect for griefers, boosters and that one occassional 5-stack that played it to get to omg globel!!)
I'm sorry that I want to have fun rather than being a tryhard, I guess that makes me a griefer/hacker.
I didn't know that playing on half-assed maps means you play the game for fun. It's not as if you can't do the same on pretty much every other map in the map pool as well

Are you being disingenuous or did you straight up skip the discussion?

Sure, you could argue that I can play the normal maps too, but it's just not the same thing. The garbage maps were just unpredictable and insane, unlike the mechanical and methodical games on the actual competitive map pool.
