Big deal. I swim across the Hoover Dam all the time.
I really fucking doubt that he partied for 37 hours and then went for this swim.
I feel it's far more plausible, you would have to be incredibly drunk to do such a stupid thing.
The thought of being in water and pulled into dark-ass turbine under water is fucking terrifying.
Yeah no fuck that.
I have recurring nightmare of being pulled down a tube and into a turbine.
I have a bad fear of being in a tunnel and hearing water with the level rising, shit gives me shivers.
This really sticks out to me. I mean, I know some people just can't be saved from their own idiocy, but almost 30 people dying a year in the same spot is pretty insane.
Imagine being a worker at the damn
"Someone got sucked up in the turbines again" would be something you get to hear at least once a month
I heard that's also a biggest problem/fear for underwater welders? Where they can weld/cut something that has no water inside it - so when it opens up the water sucks them in and they get trapped, that is also terrifying.
But still, Turbine Suck in scarier :v:

Kinda like that video of the crab getting sucked into a 0.3mm crack in a pipe. Nasty.

That is, if you're deep enough for such pressure difference
My first roommate was going for welding, underwater welding is its own discipline. They get paid a shitton because of the inherent occupational hazards. They usually serivice bridges dams and oil rigs.
