I don't know what is true, or what isn't true But I'm not really going to just assume shit about every case that comes out regarding this. I generally believe the victims and their accounts, but I don't think they're flawless or unquestionable. Doubt isn't a bad thing to have on hand in cases like this. If this is all verified in a week or two, then yes, everyone have at it, but in the meantime the court of public opinion is not a place to have honest discussions free from sensationalism, never has been.
I understand what you're saying and agree. In my opinion the pedophile account + sexual preference reveal adds up in a way that doesn't sit well in spacey's favor for me.
This has kind of been an open secret for a while, on both counts. The only thing Spacey really films in the US anymore is House of Cards in DC, and a big part of that is because his reputation in LA is pretty much in the shitter after constantly harassing male crew members. Nobody wants to work with him in Hollywood.

With that said however, these are CLAIMS. I feel as though people are jumping the gun. It probably is likely that spacey has done this shit, but it all needs to be substantiated first. If it already has, feel free to enlighten me
That article fails to mention they were finished BEFORE the allegations came out
House of Cards Season 6 will be the final season, Netflix has officially pulled the plug.
Look, that whole story had a time limit. They hit the end. It is not pulling the plug or being canceled. It is ending. Watch the UK version and see the similarities. They could have ended it two seasons ago to be honest.
That article fails to mention they were finished BEFORE the allegations came out
That's not actually true. When I worked with the crew they implied at least one more season and at most 2 more seasons.
God, I really hope this isn't true. And if it is, I hope he never had gone any further than this because a lot of fans are going to be hurting if he did. I know it's not the worst thing, and that it was 30 years ago, but it still is upsetting.
No, it's pretty bad.
Are you referring to the last thing I said? I agree it's bad, it's just it could be much worse. I just don't want Spacey to end up being one of THOSE guys. [editline]30th October 2017[/editline]
???????? I think USHoC is a solid tv series and I liked American Beauty, but hell no if the poor fans are the ones privileged to be sad over it. If he's a predator like it seems like now then the ones that can feel bad are the people he has harassed or even violated.
I'm sorry, is it wrong for fans to upset over him doing fucked up things?
This is literally exactly why we don't assume guilt before innocence. Anyone can make this kind of accusation about anyone - "oh Patrick Stewart touched my bum in 1983" - that doesn't make it true and it shouldn't alter your perception of a person until confirmed to be true by a fair trial. I'm not here to say he did or didn't do it but it's not for us to assume either way. If Rapp never takes him to court and can never produce damning evidence to the public, oh well, it's another unsubstantiated, unconfirmable rumor, and you should go on forming your opinions based on what can be empirically proven about the man. Hollywood is in full witch hunt mode and anyone making accusations about anyone makes headlines, regardless of proof, when or where it was said to have happened. Put down the torches and pitchforks and wait for some fucking evidence. Especially on something this vague. "He made a pass at me." That could mean literally anything. Temper your feelings and act rationally. A trial by public is not going to lead to justice. I honestly couldn't name anything Spacey has been in off the top of my head other than House of Cards, which I've never watched. I'm sure I've seen movies with him but I can't remember anything specifically. My only investment in this is a belief in the principles of our justice system which usually gets it right unless people let feelings get in the way.
Did you miss the "if this is true" part of both of the posts you quoted? We're not in a courtroom. We're on a video game forum. We're free to speculate based on the information at hand. "It shouldn't alter your perception." Why not? Is Rapp just some crying wolf who has decided to randomly smear Spacey in public over a 30 year old incident? I'm not taking Rapp at his word, I'm giving a potential victim of sexual harassment some consideration over a traumatic incident. Combined with Spacey's apparent history of this behavior, then it's completely fair to say "this doesn't reflect very well on Spacey." No one's busting out the pitchforks or the lynch rope.
"You hit on me." "I don't remember meeting you and I'm sorry if/that I said or did something that made you feel like I was hitting on you." Seems a pretty all inclusive denial to me. But OK.
He picked him up, put him on a bed and climbed on top of him. You know this by now stop equating it with being "hit on".
these allegations go as far back as 2001, with spacey's name redacted
... I squirmed away and went into the bathroom. I came out and I excused myself, and he’s like “You sure you want to go?” I always wonder if he remembers it, because he was pretty drunk. And he’s had so many.
I met him when I was 14 because we were both in plays and he invited me to a party at his house. I was bored, so I was in his bedroom watching TV and didn’t know everybody had left, and he came to the bedroom and he picked me up and lay down on top of me.

Holy shit, this thread is awful. How can so many of you people defend him? He made sexual advances on a minor. Being drunk or "forgetting" are both bullshit excuses.
Ah, but did he though? I try to not jump to conclusions in rape cases.
Holy shit, this thread is awful. How can so many of you people defend him? He made sexual advances on a minor. Being drunk or "forgetting" are both bullshit excuses.
Same reason why there are Chris Brown and Bill Cosby sympathizers. I've always thought KS was a creepy man anyways
6 seasons is a really good run for a TV show anyway. Pretty sure Spacey being gay's been one of the worst-kept secrets in the business, mostly since he got mugged in London in a spot notorious for scouting for gay sex IIRC Still, if he's preying on young actors that makes him a pretty nasty scumbag
Crazy how allegations of sexual assault can ruin a fictional president but not a real one
In case you haven't noticed sexual abuse is rampant in Hollywood and the entertainment industry. This is highly likely to be legit and not just an accusation. Spacey's attempt to deflect by coming out as gay is also really fishy. Also FYI this is always how it starts.
We get that it's rampant, but right now this isn't Winstein. We're talking about an alleged accusation so the proof isn't in the pudding until we reach the bottom of said pudding.
i've also seen this yeah 4chan screencap but it is another thing on the pile. IF these are true it would show a pattern of abusing young, mostly unknown boys.
Here's the source link for that.
it's interesting to me that so many people are quick to dismiss it as "oh, it was 30 years ago", but he was still an adult at the time. You don't make an "innocent mistake" like trying to have sex with a 14 year old at age 26. Usually that indicates something way deeper and long lasting. Never doubt anything, especially with how the cabal of power in Hollywood works. If someone like Kevin Spacey wanted to indulge his desires there are plenty of places and people he could have used to do it without anyone knowing
We get that it's rampant, but right now this isn't Winstein. We're talking about an alleged accusation so the proof isn't in the pudding until we reach the bottom of said pudding.
It's interesting, when it was Cosby people were divided on whether the charges against him could be trusted, and he had a lot of advocates arguing for why they couldn't possibly be. But but the whole thing with Harvey Weinstein seems to have opened up the floodgates. If Kevin Spacey did this to a 14 year old it's deplorable, regardless of how long ago it was, but as far as I'm aware there is no way to be sure and we just have to take the alleged victims word for it. I will say his defense so far has been super weak.
It must suck to have your career thrown in the shitter over allegations that you don't even know are true. That's assuming he genuinely doesn't remember and isn't just trying to deflect blame.

That's assuming he genuinely doesn't remember and isn't just trying to deflect blame.
Also it's assuming it's true, but with all the recent things I'm hearing about Spacey and young boys... it's not good... I want to stick with what I'd said earlier in this thread, but, the cards are stacking up against me. [editline]31st October 2017[/editline] God fucking dammit that wasn't on purpose btw.
This changes nothing regarding my opinion of him, which is that he's a kickass actor and someone who i'd love to hang out with and shoot the shit with over a beer.
This changes nothing regarding my opinion of him, which is that he's a kickass actor and someone who i'd love to hang out with and shoot the shit with over a beer.
wait so you'd be fine with hanging out with someone if they fucked underage boys as long as they were a good enough dude?
This changes nothing regarding my opinion of him, which is that he's a kickass actor and someone who i'd love to hang out with and shoot the shit with over a beer.
He's a talented actor and a charismatic person, but he still tried to suck off a kid. I can probably still watch his older works and appreciate them for what they are, but going forward, if it's true, he's scum.

Personally I doubt Anthony Rapp is telling the truth because of the fact.
