i can already imagine NHL 19

Nah mate,
You buy loot boxes to determine if you hit or not
Then another type of loot box to see if your shot goes in the direction you want
Then a third set to effect how the keeper reacts...
I don't know, I haven't seen anything from this website before and don't see any other websites reporting it. I would think given the current EA shitstorm, people would be very quick to pick this up.
I have no idea if it's true as I haven't played the game, but I would be apprehensive about immediately believing it.
Soon:
Drink your verification can.
These guys could just be the first to the table. My guess is later today we could hear more from other sources.

IIRC this game will have Ultimate Team function, like other EA's sports games has (UFC2 has it from what I see with quick googling) with openable packs aka lootboxes.
But I can't find anything about P2W lootboxes this blog post is describing UFC3 is going to have.
What the fuck are they doing??

I don't think you even need Photoshop to make him look like a villain.
He was already the villain in the new Mirror's Edge

This is the funniest shit I've seen all day
If you don't succeed try and try again..
A great saying of persistence, however I don't think that this was what you're supposed to do with it..
Oh my god i am speechless. Just completely floored. I think they literally just headd only the words "lootbox" in the backlash and thought itd be incredible to just do it again beacuse obviously thats what everyonw wants /s
Seriously fuck this insane bullshit.
Holy shit, I remember when I used to think DLC was bad when it was first a thing. Never thought it'd get this shitty.

Give an inch and they'll take a mile.
UFC 2 Had this stupid "card system" as well. It's very not fun. You can beat the career mode in like 2 hours. It's also pretty obvious that they tried to make the campaign suck to get you to play the only other mode worth playing, which also happens to be the same mode that lets you spend money for cards that alllow you to throw a punch in a fighting game.
Looks like a fucking Deus Ex villain.
It's just Robby Rotten if he ran a games company instead of trying to do whatever the fuck it was he tried to do in Lazy Town.

Also, this fights over before it even began, EA should tap out now while they have the chance.
Ya know I always thought video games would go by the wayside in my life due to getting older and not having the time or interest like I used to. Not cynical cash grab loot box schemes designed to hold me upside down and shake the money out of my pockets.
I know there is a plethora of other companies making genuinely inspired and passionate games, but I cant help but feel this is the solidification of a new age. AAA game companies are making it clear they are not in this for the player, no matter how much we beat the drums of disdain or boycott their product.
EA, you are a pack of money hungry suits and deserve a swift kick in the ass out the back door.
This is some WoT Premium ammo bullshit, except in a full price game
Slow the fuck down EA I'm still tired from the BF2 shenanigans
I honestly can't believe that a group of people literally sat around in a conference room and agreed that this was a great idea.
Wow I'm not even angry, I'm impressed. :goodjob:
holy fuck this is like poetry
I can't be mad anymore, this is hilarious.
They just know that the sort of people who buy sports games won't complain. It's like how they get away with releasing Fifa every year despite the game being barely any different.
They really are seeing how far they can push it.
They'll likely get away with it too because sports games have a rather large tendency too.
It was FIFA that spawned EA's lootbox system after all, if it wasn't so damn successful in FIFA it wouldn't be pushed everywhere else.

Took my words right as I was typing it. I don't know the best and more nice way of putting it. But people who buy sports games and accept this shit are about as bright a brick apparently.
I can't believe I'm saying this but wow, this blows Battlefront 2 out of the water. I've never seen such a disgusting use of loot boxes.
Between this, BF2 and Shadow of War, I'm seriously afraid for the gaming industry.
At this point I'm kind of expecting AAA games to focus more on "how can we get the most money out of our players" instead "how can we provide a superior experience" in the future, while smaller companies work on stuff that doesn't make as much money but at least is a fun experience.

It's been that way for about 5 years now.
Is it satire? I'm serious. I played the older MMA and such games, especially fight night [different sport, boxing in this case.] and I enjoyed them. When I heard about UFC 3 I didn't give a damn but I at least thought "They can't fuck this up at least."
Surprise! :disappoint:

...why would anyone bother buying this game at that point
