Xbox and PS4 initial launch first. Pity, but not surprised.
No PC, no purchase, I can't justify buying a console just for one game especially when they'll probably expect me to double dip later

true fans of the game like me will buy a copy even without the console just to show support
Hyped, visually looks killer and the Dutch-gang prequel story line sounds interesting af.
Just sayin, I bought PS4 version of GTA5 to play with some friends, (i own it on PC) and it ran like utter shit. Probably 20-25 frames at ALL TIMES. I could not believe what i was playing. I said sorry to my friends and returned it. I have 400 hours invested into GTA and could not believe it was that bad on console. So my friends, i would not buy this on console and just wait.
It ran perfectly fine on the Xbone though
Is that Robert Taylor (of Longmire) as the character model?

God damn the MC looks bland as hell, designwise.
Even though I'll have to wait anywhere from 2 years to forever for a PC release, I'm still hoping the majority of the effort was put into world building, story telling, and game mechanics. The last thing I want from this game is a primary focus on multiplayer, for obvious reasons.
Pre purchase now to get chrome horse armor and the golden coach gun as a bonus in RDR:O!

Considering ~20FPS seemed to be the target for the PS3 version of GTA V, I have a hard time believing that the PS4 version was actually that bad. The frame pacing was probably wonky as fuck, but that's a different problem entirely. At the very least it seemed like a marked improvement over the abysmal performance of the last gen release.
Someone just gave me a free Xbox One, and I now see that the original RDR is available on the marketplace ($30 geez you console guys get ripped off even on ancient games). The PS3 I got and used for 1 hour died so it's as good a chance as any to finally play the original and maybe even this one if they forsake the PC crowd. Looks beautiful, although the main character is, as mentioned, as charismatic and well animated as two pieces of timber nailed together.

You'd be better off going to a gamestop and buying a 360 copy. The marketplace version and the new version they're selling is literally just the 360 copy but backward compatible.
From what I read, the only difference really was that it runs at a consistent 30fps on the Xbone, I assume chucking in a 360 copy will still see that same performance benefit? (Have to ask, you never know what dodgy shit dev's do like that). Not a bad idea at all if that's the case!
dollar per hour is dumb, i go to the movies and pay 13 bux for a ticket and thats not even counting concessions (though who really even gets those)
i prefer when devs respect the player's time and actually get to the fucking chase and let you do the cool shit, which gta did
compare that to an ubisoft open world game, or mafia 3, or a myriad of other open world things out there right now, they're full of garbage filler to keep you busy until the next story beat to make you feel like you got what you paid for
Brothers: Tale of Two Sons lasted me like two hours tops and it's easily one of the best games I ever played.

Honestly I bought a PS3 (years later, I'll admit) just to play RDR 1.
I won't be doing that again.

Wouldn't it run better though seeing as it's running on XBONE ?
The 360 copy ran at like 20 fps in some places.

It's supposed to, but it's the same game. It wasn't remastered for the Xbone, so any copy of RDR will run the same.

Iirc there's like a 3 frame difference. It's not really worth any extra effort
man everyone loved gta v when it came out
hating it in retrospect doesn't make sense when you enjoyed it initially
I didn't enjoy it initially I just didn't play it until it came out on PC
Please don't assume that anyone who doesn't like a game is just part of some bandwagon and actually secretly loves the game.
