Puppy died on United Airlines flight after attendant insisted to put him in the overhead bin

Like not even trying to pile on here, but I've never had a flight on United that I didn't absolutely hate. There was always something wrong with the plane where they took an extra hour or two to fiddlefuck with, and it always stunk like someone pooped right in my air vent thingy.
Even Delta/Southwest were comfortable and got their shit together for me compared to United. Sucks that United basically has a monopoly on my closest airport (O'Hare).
I hope to god they sue. Poor family must be traumatized about this happening, it's traumatizing when a pet dies under any circumstance but this is just wretched.
its an incredibly common thing? almost every flight ive been on in the last 10 years has had at least one pet on it
it's very rare outside of the US
One article I read about this incident says the dog was a French bulldog. From speaking with 1 individual owner, they are extremely finicky dogs in regards to temperature. If theyre too hot or too cold, they just shut down. IIRC they sometimes have issues regulating their body temp on their own.
So surprisingly, shoving the dog in a hotbox easily killed it.
What an amazing act of cruelty
French bulldogs are also often heinously brachycephalic. They have trouble breathing on a good day, let alone when shoved in a hot overhead bin.
United and American Arlines are the ones Ive heard nothing but bad stuff about
Airlines are like ISPs. They're all shitty, but you have to find the one that's the least shitty.
Today I learned to consult the experts at Facepunch if I ever need to calculate dog thermodynamics :dogcited:
Remind me to check next time I fly to visit my family in california never to book a ticket where the domestic flight from NY to LA is handled by these absolute fucking morons.
Fly Alaskan.

Or, if you want a cheaper option, Delta. Never fly American Airlines, either.
veryone who work for them operate at 25% brain capacity
My dad works for United Express, you know. He thinks it's just as bad.
Nice blanket statement.

Way to take it personally.
I've flown a shit ton of United. It's a horrible experience every time and a lot of it is due to incompetent, angry, unfriendly, and outright hostile employees. I'm extremely polite to service workers, and flying United is something I dread every time.
Why the hell would the owner even listen to them in this aspect/situation?
An awful situation all around. I honestly would be devastated if it happened to my pets.
Wow, thanks for letting me know that, because I definitely literally meant that every single person that works at United is an idiot in my statement where I was referring to the incidents where United flight attendants made stupid decisions.
If it doesn't apply, let it fly. It should be obvious through context that I'm generalizing the United employees that make it shit, not United employees as a whole.
