I mean im sure the issue is much bigger here in the Balkans than anywhere else, but theres very little we can do about it. Trying to help results in nothing (there were campaigns to give all of them condom supplies in order to lower birthrates since they do not care for their children - they just never used them at all), and trying to do anything even remotely agressively, like trying to get them to stop building huts in parks results in the EU screaming "sTOP OPPRESSING MINORITIES!"

Not the biggest when compared to the population in america, stop bending statistics to your liking.
Again, is the fact that they're Roma relevant?
There's plenty to criticise about parts of their culture but I don't see what pointing out an instance of crime out of nowhere with nothing to do with what I said was supposed to accomplish.
It was brought up in a discussion about trying to help them integrate. They used help that was meant to make them productive members of society, and they used it to continue being reductive members of society.
Them being Roma isn't relevant, them being gypsie is.

Not many gypsies among them though.
Debating over the semantics of words is meaningless in this case. Obviously any intelligent person doesn't think that every member of this ethnicity is a problem, just a particular subset of their culture that is colloquially referred to as 'gypsies'.
People say that it's a slur/pejorative and you know what? It is. I've never heard it used against the ethnicity, however. only against that group that people are fed up with that are essentially aggressively homeless.
I worked as a chef in an Italian restaurant back in the day. One day a family came in and were rude as hell to the waitress, even after she had to read out the menu to all of them because none of them could read a word.
45 minutes later my manager walked in and told me that ALL of the dishes had glass in them, and that they were demanding the whole meal be free for everyone. Of course they didn't get jack shit.
It's a shame they all found the glass I hid under the pizza cheese though.

Wow, you actually put glass in food that you served to people? Given the term "family", possibly children as well?
You're a terrible person and deserve to be in prison.
[editline]s[/editline]
That is, that's what I would say if you were being serious, but you're not. You're lying, because that didn't happen.

Obviously I didn't put glass into their meals.
They all brought it in themselves and put it into their food when they mostly finished their plates, but because they are borderline retarded they decided to do it with every single dish which threw all chance of it being semi believable right out the window.

What?
I literally looked it up and saw that. The US has 1,000,000 or so Roma, which is very high. It might not be a huge percentage but I just gave a factual statement.

http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/555-squatting-in-amsterdam
Really glad that squatting is banned in the Netherlands.
there is a similar "gypsy problem" here in Syria, although on a far minor scale
they usually live near rivers in big camps, me being someone living in a small town near a river I've seen quite a bit, it gives the impression that they're very poor (buying the cheapest food, walking with bare feet, very damaged clothes etc...)
but in reality this isn't the case at all, I remember when Satellite TV started being a thing here, no one knew what it is, and we first saw them installing the dish, people were really wondering what could it be, baking I guess?
beggars in the street were somewhat common previously, it usually was just someone's job, most likely a woman sitting in the street (commonly with a child, sometimes sick, sometimes acting sick, sometimes an infant who lost a hand or a foot to get more mercy)
in many of those cases, it isn't even their child or relative, and in some rare cases, those kids were literally rented (yes that is how bad it gets)
you could very well walk near her while she's asking you for anything being 100% sure she has more money than your entire family combined
in recent years however, this changed due to war, destroyed homes, workplaces and catastrophic economy as more people genuinely have lost everything and need help, beggars are far more common in the streets, in addition to all the refugees here
can't say that all of them are like this, I've met many really nice people from them, it's just that they have many specially atrocious cases like this, in addition to their lifestyle and habits feeling really weird to me

Oh, my bad.
I just didn't see how else
The United States has one of the largest Roma populations on Earth.
And they're comparatively far better integrated such that we don't regularly have to deal with bands of gypsies causing problems. Because the issue isn't Romani people, it's the gypsy culture/lifestyle.

Your statement really isn't factual though. The US has likely the largest Roma population out of individual countries but Europe as a whole has a much greater population. Also the US Census doesn't distinguish Roma as an ethnicity so it's hard to get exact numbers and the number of 1,000,000 is purely an estimate made by a professor at the University of Texas.
You brought the numbers up in response to someone saying they aren't that common here and truly they aren't. A population of maybe 1 million (an estimate made in 2011) in a country of 323.1 million is not common.
In Finland and Denmark the gypsies are pretty common as well. I have the same gypsy sitting near my super market - she's been sitting there for weeks. Downtown they all seem to gather to go some place, god knows where. Back in Denmark I remember reading stories about entire gypsy families surrounding old women and stealing their purses, in broad daylight. I guess in Asia they don't really exist that much, at least I never saw any when I was living in the Philippines. Then again, that country already has enough poverty as I would see children in the streets sniffing glue.
tell me hows this different from what you are saying.
mostly because the roma haven't had a malcom x yet. they've completely assimilated in the united states so we have no prejudice against them. they haven't been allowed to assimilate in europe because they have no social or economic mobility
they haven't been allowed to assimilate in europe because they have no social or economic mobility
By the sounds of it, purely by their own choice.
Romani is actually an ethnicity and gypsy can be used pejoratively to refer to all of them but obviously we aren't in the context of this discussion, we're referring to those who choose to live as destructive gypsies
this is kinda like the "not all black people are niggers" shit
It plays a large part, but not purely. Rampant discrimination often quells the efforts of any Romani individual to integrate. They often hide their background and heritage to succeed, thereby leaving the bad image of the Romani intact, people who refuse to integrate and will never hold jobs or sedentary homes, because those who do hide their Romani background while integrating. It becomes a vicious cycle.

People are angry at them for leaving school, for example, but parents that won't let their kids play with Gypsy kids, or teachers that act like all Gypsy kids are petty thieves, ensure the outcome if there was any doubt to begin with.
There is a gypsy settlement near my country house thqt's been here for more than 20 years. And one day one of them said "Man fuck this, I want to actually earn money" and got a job somwhere near. You can't even begin to imagine the amount of shit he got from the whole settlement, and he was forced to abandon the job.

Sounds like the harassment lower-class African Americans suffer from their peers when they get a white-collar job, only turned up to an even dumber degree.
It absolutely baffles me that there are places in the world where someone can break into your house and lock you out, and you can't just call 911 and have the whole lot arrested on the spot.
If it's your house, you have the papers, they should be removed immediately. They can squat in jail for breaking and entering, theft (if they took food or money), and property damage.
to be fair the papers are probably in the house...
The family should tie a dog to a tree a little ways from the property, once the gypos see it they won't be able to resist the temptation of stealing it and leave the house.
Sneak in, lock the door, phone the police saying there are intruders who have just stolen a dog trying to get into your house and sorted.
Counter Squatting at it's finest.

There's a difference between a muslim conservative who integrates slowly into society while maintaining his/her views and a gypsy who flat-out refuse to do anything productive.
Also from my experience some Eastern Europeans wants to murder gypsies and burn down their camps which is pretty different from wanting them to accept society.
Or does gypsy genocide = social integration for you?
Dude I'm being serious! You have to fight with them (not only Gypsies mind you). And sometimes when the police goes to evict them, they put their children on the front for the police to be brought to a halt.
Look up "Ocupas argentina" on Google. There was even a series produced back in 2001 called oKupas which dealt with the topic.
More recently, look up "toma del parque indoamericano" where some neighbors of Villa Soldati saw that there were squatters invading the park across the street and they, personally, went and engaged in some good ol' medieval h2h (With a little bit of lead here and there)
Couldn't theses people just be charged with theft and home invasion?
Im really glad these kind of asshole don't exist in my country
Just break in and change the locks again. Force them out yourself. Squatters rights or no, it's your land. Not like they'll hold up in court.
I have heard of a Russian guy in Spain who does this for a living: extracts squatters through deception and returns properties to owners. Was a fun read.
We don’t have squatters rights here in the States, but I do level with the deceptive tactics by ‘homeless’ beggars. I’m from a city that borders Detroit, I could walk 2 miles and be there. MANY of the supposedly homeless people in that area beg for money on the same corner with the same story for years and years.
One of my good friends managed a bar in downtown Detroit, there was a guy that would come around almost every week asking for money for the bus. Finally my buddy broke down and yelled, “Dude you’ve been trying to catch the bus for 4 years, why don’t you just fucking walk?”
It's the same in my town. All the real homeless people just walk along the sidewalk and collect cans and never talk to anyone. Meanwhile the beggars drive to the shopping mall in their own car or take a taxi and beg for money all day.
I've been hounded for money by dudes with Starbucks cups. One particular one I know because he used to try to come into my store and steal. I saw him almost get beat up by some dude because he was standing outside the doors telling people he only needed "one more dollar" to afford to get out of town, some guy gave it to him and when he finished shopping the guy was still outside asking for "one more dollar" and they got into a big fight.
At least the dudes selling mixtapes are offering you something. Scumbag beggars are just parasites.
