Sure the process takes its time, but the deportees should be treated as a potential terrorism threat until deportation and at least monitored in some way
when you know you're being deported you might turn to some desperate actions thinking you have nothing to lose anyway
but i bet my ass that if a politician dares to even suggest anything like that, they will instantly get indicted for hate speech and called fascist nazi scum by you-know who
I don't think you'd get branded as a racist for proposing that, but I'm wondering how effective and reasonable it would actually be to monitor every single person who is denied asylum until they're finally deported. I mean I assume they already are monitored to a degree, considering they're taking residence in refugee camps and are expected to leave the country.

You honestly don't have enough people to do that level of monitoring in even the biggest immigration agencies in the world. There will be some that will slip through the cracks in even the biggest such effort taken.
The government is using this event to push forward their "anti-terrorist" snooping laws to remove privacy of Finnish citizens' communications, those scummy fucks. Similar to what the UK and Theresa May have been doing.

Opportunistic scum. In my opinion the proper reaction would be to immediately detain all asylum seekers that have been denied asylum. They have no right or reason to stay in the country after being denied asylum - they should await deportation in a controlled environment. The refugee centers should be only used for those still waiting for their asylum request to be filled or denied. Uncontrolled immigration, letting asylum seekers stay even after asylum has been denied and no proper background checks will inevitably to cause a similar event to happen again.
But what is going to happen is reactionary politics and events resembling more of a police state than that of reason. The Finnish way of politicians putting their self interests ahead instead of listening to the people.

SDP on it's own could block it if they don't lose their nerve.

Or a coalition of the smaller left parties, but Greens are apparently amenable to it depending on the content of the law.

SDP is not going to let it pass.
