Recognizing that alienating and marginalizing innocent Muslim populations is going to result in increased rates of extremism isn't being an apologist for Islamic extremism, it's a basic strategic fact. The entire point of committing terrorist attacks of this nature is not to simply rack up a body count, but to drive a wedge of fear and hatred between Muslims and the rest of the world. Doing so results in massive and understandable social backlash, most of it victimizing completely innocent people just because of their religious affiliation. The hysteria is inflamed and mirrored through further attacks and propaganda, and the end result is that the radical fringe reflexively grows. That's literally how terrorist networks grow their influence. I mean, I guess I can't speak for anybody else here (especially Tarver -- he is acting a bit unhinged), but when I say "don't victimize innocent Muslims, or marginalize the religion as a whole -- they had nothing to do with this," I'm not telling you to just accept terrorism with a smile I'm on your face. That's ridiculous. I'm just warning you against misplaced aggression, because it only inflames the very issues we're trying to fight against.

NOBODY deserves to get blown up at a concert for literally existing, or any reason at all for that matter. Edit: You can consider me an islamophobe, actually. I still think nobody "deserved it" or "had it coming" People died. At least give it a few days before we get into political debate. We can save that for after.

As bad as this is, it could have been a whole lot worse if it had happened during the show, rather than right after it ended. Not only had quite a few people already left, the arena lights had come back on making exiting easier.
