Valve's Steam Link is one dollar (in a $9 bundle) right now

Why's everyone complaining about the cost of shipping?
On Amazon ATM it's $30 w/ free 2 day shipping if you have Prime.
Here it's $16 something with shipping, including a game.
Who cares if half of that $16 is shipping? You're still paying less.

Because when they advertise the Link at "$1" and then they say "well, it comes in a bundle with a $7.50 game, but you know, $8.50 ain't bad" but you get to checkout and suddenly see $16.50, it's kind of disappointing in the age of practically universally free shipping.
We realize it's still less (even though it has gone on sale for $15 before) but really it's no better than an infomercial. Just pay separate shipping and handling for your FREE GIFT! Did we mention it's free? $7.99 shipping and handling fee, and it can be yours for FREE!
universally free shipping.
unless you literally only shop on amazon, this is not even close to being true.

I can't remember the last time I bought anything online and paid for shipping, except for the occasional eBay purchase from a private seller. I just had a sectional couch delivered for free. Even Skymall ships free - it's not a rare concept.
Like Valve is paying $8 to ship these things, right. And that fee just happens to be the same everywhere.

It's called Flate Rate Shipping and it's incredibly common.
Fuck me for being Australian
$90 at EB games
noice
i mean, £14 is still a hell of a lot cheaper than £40. it'll be a nice thing to have around and use
when it came out everyone was complaining the wifi made the delay worse and quality was weird but hardwiring showed zero issues.

That's not an issue with the Steam Link, it's an issue with WiFi.
I get bad streaming experiences on my laptop connected to WiFi and it gets great speeds.

I'm curious to see how it will work on my setup. My desktop is connected via Ethernet to a secondary router in media bridge mode, which is bridging the primary over a 5 GHz network. The Steam Link will then be connected to the main router through Ethernet. The 5 GHz over two routers might be more reliable than using just standard WiFi adapters like in the Link or a desktop, but we'll see.

Same here. Tried both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz (fiber WiFi) with 10-20 MB bandwith limit, and no ethernet cables connected - works great
Valve has a Storage in Poland. All the HTC Vive for Europe are coming from there.
I find your post funny. Shipping to Poland is 11 euro :why:
~8 euro for the stuff and 21 euro to deliver it :(
I think the Zaibatsu played it (Best Friends Play) and the general consensus is that it's fine.
I'm tempted to try this deal, but 90% of the games I play are RTS games which I doubt can be playable on console controllers.
consider a steam controller if you're an rts kinda guy. though get it from somewhere that has a good return policy, they're not perfect and not everyone is into them. ive used mine for everything from games to just general pc browsing because the trackpad works so well.

Except they advertise it as "Link for $1 with purchase of this $8 game on sale just pay shipping and handling" they're not misleading you, you're just bad at reading comprehension.
Also "universally free shipping"? That's a fucking joke Dude. Even on Amazon there's shitloads of things that don't have free shipping.

Anyone else get this email? I'm curious just how big the uptake is. I'm glad they're at least honoring the orders instead of just outright cancelling them.
Ditto, I was expecting it to be a cancellation.
I got one as well. I'm not surprised though. I seem to be one of the few who actually thought this was real.
3 weeks, oh boy.
Fuck me for thinking of getting it fast by ordering it as soon as I heard about the bundle.
I got mine yesterday in the mail. Still though 8 euro shipping for what toke 40 kilometers? It has a very good package though.
My cousin makes a buy for the box. He had the icey refund and now the box in the mail will be with him soon but he only pay for the $1 and shipping. Still no switch but

I got the email, which is slightly worrying because I refunded the purchase and ICEY is no longer in my library.
I got my shipping e-mail today letting me know it is out of Steam's hands and in the carrier. It's ETA is 10/28.

Same, just received the email about 20 minutes ago. FedEx is shipping mine, but the tracking number isn't showing up in their system so they must've just now shipped it.
I received my steam link and it work perfectly.

That means the label was made. Nothing else.

I thought the ghost of ChadMcGoatman possessed him in an attempt to escape hell
I got an email this morning notifying me that it's being shipped.
Friend of mine bought one for me, he bought it as soon as this deal started and it arrived yesterday.
Just got my impulse buy box. Realized Destiny 2 can't run with steam overlay :v:
