It's a stupid move, but it's kind of understandable if he didn't think his story would translate well into a medium he knew nothing about. Perhaps he even lacked confidence in his own work.

From what I hear about the guy, he doesn't lack any confidence in his own work, but he lacks respect for games as a medium.
Crazy that I live in a time where my stoic father is watching video game movies and video game television series.

one of the greatest things I noticed about learning polish is how much more colourful it made the dialogue in the witcher games. Then I noticed my grandparents speaking in much the same way, with language just as dirty.
