I didn't realize Valve made games, thought they made steam and that was it... my bad.
(The people at) Valve are releasing a game.
'At' is a preposition, this is a different sentence. Valve is a collective. A singular collective. You can't say "A collective of people! People is plural!" Because 'of people' is just a prepositional phrase that doesn't change the plurality of the subject. [editline]18th June 2013[/editline] Hope Valve releases Dota 2 on Linux before it's official.
What is the big craze of DOTA 2 anyways? I mean, I don't like that genre of game at all but I know others do, but why has it taken so long? why is the community seemingly so limitless? Why does it look like a sperglord piece of shit MMO?
They're just taking their time with porting everything from the original DOTA into DOTA 2. Adding in what heroes are left, giving them completely new models and everything. It doesn't help that DOTA 1 is still being updated. Other than that the game is a completely functioning beta, there probably won't be a lot of changes with the "Official release" comes out.
why is the community seemingly so limitless?
I don't know, maybe people enjoy the game.
Why does it look like a sperglord piece of shit MMO?
What? How could anyone screw that up?

Wow it's like the players want to be murderers and developers are making it as realistic as possible to help! Strategy Games? Go play chess or something dumb like that I dunno videogames confuse me. This is how dumb you sound.
its still a fun game if you drop the "everyone only wants to trade!!" prejudicement theres one problem tho, its a cartoony f2p game, so it attracts a LOT of braindead people
I don't mind trading, it's completely different. However, I do mind the broken weapons, giltches and game-breaking bugs that Valve refuse to fix or care.
Pretty sure people are rating it dumb because it is not news. Everyone has been able to play Dota 2 for ages now, and we were always aware that it would have an official release at some point.
China isn't fully able yet.

For fuck sake, I actually said:
I don't like that genre of game at all but I know others do
No, I do not think everyone who plays games like DOTA 2 is a massive sperglord, but I do feel like DOTA 2 was a huge mismanagement of resources for a rather niche market. I mean, this was the project that most of Valve's staff was working on. However, did it really need that many people just to make a game for a relatively niche genre. And don't quote any bullshit statistics because I guarantee that whatever the amount of MMO or MOBA gamers out there, almost every other genre has more. And no, I am not saying that DOTA 2 should have been neglected or abandoned, not at all. but why did it need 300 fucking people working on it? Was it honestly more important than other Valve projects like Half Life 3? I do know there is not really anyone to blame for that though. It isn't the players fault, they just wanted a fun game and they have no control over what the Valve staff produces. It isn't upper management's fault because Valve lets their employees pick and choose what projects they want to work on, and it isn't even the staff's fault, because they obviously were proud of DOTA 2 and wanted it made. I guess it is just a lack of appeal to me being an outsider to the genre, but I do think that the resources, particularly on part of the employees, could have been more balanced. And I don't mean cutting down DOTA 2's team to nothingness, but is 300 (which is the high estimate for the team size, if I recall correctly) just seems way to much when most Valve games are barely scraping by.
