It's a good game to play with your friends and have a laugh with, and there is a real fucking spooky backstory to it all which is fun/creepy to read.

I bought this game when it was first starting to get popular because I could always go for a good horror game and it sounded interesting. Then I actually played it and thought everyone was just being sarcastic or something because I thought it was pretty lousy. This is when I had to use Desura to get it, whatever the hell Desura is. It was only $5 but I still could have gotten a sandwich or something.
Let's be fair I like the game but just because it's cheap doesn't make all it's flaws null
If it's being treated as just as good as a regular price game, it should be judged by the same standards as one

Considering the ratio of game quality to price is an incredibly important deciding factor. Of course doesn't nullify it's flaws, that'd be stupid to imply.

some games you can get away with it, like slaughtering grounds. games that are just across the board clearly bad. then there are games like Shadow of Mordor, or far more, FNAF, where you have to personally play it to actually get the experience. Many games have a certain feeling of immersion that only playing blind or just partly blind can bring.

By far one of the better horror games to be released in the past 5 years and funnily enough is chock full of jump scares. Its strange how well a game as small as it is and as simple as it is can hold its own, was actually the only game I have ever bought of desura before it ever hit steam, I even had the download link prepped and ready for a free download but it was too hot and saucy not to support.
If you can ignore the stupid youtube hype and furry butts who make freddy seem shit then its surprisingly one of the better and more iconic horror games released in the past decade. Its not a 10/10 masterpiece but its extremely original and actually makes jumpscares not shit which is something I have never seen pulled off.
The guy behind Freddy is a fucking talented motherfucker, if any indie dev deserves support its this fucker. For fuck sakes, one of his game has a boss called SoulDozer and you pray to it, just give him $2 fucking dollars for coming up with that name at least.
