I'm not sure I see the problem with the bow.
Yeah right, they will be back a few years later with Crysis 4 no doubt
I love how game developers just love making trilogies. They start making a good series and by the third game, they're like "Ok, let's wrap things up!" It seems that most game devs plan for a trilogy instead of letting the sequels arise naturally. I mean look at Halo. Bungie made a trilogy and 343 is making another trilogy. Gears of War trilogy. Mass Effect trilogy.
I fucking it hate it when companies do prequels. I want closure to the plot they set up in the first place.
Didn't Gears of War have a closure?
If they improve the MP then I might consider buying Crysis 3. If it's still CoD with nanosuits then lolno
Was that Psycho's voice in the trailer?
The crossbow is fine. The lack of tactical options is bad. The crysis 2 style nanosuit/hud is terrible.
Was that Psycho's voice in the trailer?
Yes [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
The crossbow is fine. The lack of tactical options is bad. Actually I like the bow, Turok features also a bow. It was kind of tricky to use it but it proved to be a great stealth weapon for taking out enemies without a sound. I think it is a neat idea, perhaps it can be a bit more advanced with some technological tools.
As soon as I saw the water physics at the end of that trailer, I thought "It better be prerendered, or my poor little ATI GPU will have to suffer using PhysX"
Crytek uses it's own physics engine.
From that diagram at 0:29, it looks like you can go: a - to the left of the building b - a little bit less left of the building c - to the right of the building And you end up in the same place, placing a charge in the middle of the dam. Wouldn't it be better if you had access to the surrounding buildings, and could approach and charge the damn anywhere you wanted? Suppose that would take work though. Ergh, wish they wouldn't pass that off as "multiple ways to achieve your objective" .
TBH Crysis 1 was exactly the same, I hate when people bring this up forgetting that the first one did the same basic concept. You'd always end up where the level wanted you to go by the end of it. The only thing that crysis 1 did different was the paths were a lot less obvious, and occasionally they threw in secondary objectives. I.E. to blow up carrier in the harbor level you could take a mainland route around the inland bay, or you could just cut right accross the bay, take a detour by an island to stock up on weapons, and go in through the back. The paths to the same objective were still there, but they weren't spelled out for you like they were in Crysis 2 - it was more or less an mini-open world where there were a small few ways to get to your objective in whichever way you wanted to. Basically, it did the illusion of being non-linear better than Crysis 2, even if Crysis 2 and Crysis 1 functioned pretty much the same in how the overall game/level design was planned.
The guy demoing the game on gamespot even said, sure it was more open but it was such a waste of space.

I don't mind that much if the developers only allowed for a few paths (although there are definitely more than 3 ways to attack an objective in warhead), but being told how to play the game ruins the fun of actually playing it
Do you have to pre-order to get the bow?
What exactly is wrong with them? And 'its not like crysis 1' aint an excuse.
Instead of being able to actually play as you want (I'll go stealth climb up to that guy than reappear, use strength mode, punch him, activate superspeed and push the other guy off) it became "when you run its superspeed when you switch to fists it's super punch when you jump it's superjump"
Do you have to pre-order to get the bow?
the bow is basically the new staple weapon of the game, of course not.
I get the need for stealth, but you'd think that if they have technology like nanosuits then they would have some form of better silencing technology for guns, right?
I get the need for stealth, but you'd think that if they have technology like nanosuits then they would have some form of better silencing technology for guns, right?
Why is everyone trying so hard to find a way to invalidate the bow? It's silent and shoots explosives arrows. Why does everything have to be a gun? A bow can still be useful in these situations. Plus, I don't see there ever being something that could make a gun nearly as silent as a bow.
"Crytek makes any other shooter it's bitch." Hahahaha.
They used to. Far Cry 1 is probably the epitome of a perfect FPS with exploration. Crysis 1 was ok and Warhead was awesome, but after Crysis 2 they have completely failed at making a good game.

When it told me to go over the rooftops and drop down on Cell guys, I instead went through the sewers and popped out from underneath them, etc.
i bet that on crysis 4, we going to get a nano sword and a nano shield to achieve maximum medieval

Exploring is pointless. Most places that avoids the main path is dead empty. Steep learning curve. Died many times at the first merc camp. Terrible voice acting. Need I explain? Lack of weapons. Has the default set of weapons but lacks variety or any sense of uniqueness so far. Dull/confusing plot. Nothing has picked up. Mutants on an island so far, enhancing humans, etc. Fun for a bit, gets boring fast. There is nothing in this game that makes me want to go back. I find Crysis 2 way loads more fun than Far Cry, which is, in my opinion, dull and lacking. [editline]9th June 2012[/editline] Crysis 2 was a good game. They are not going to make it how some people want it, which is a carbon copy of C1. No one can explain why C2 is a bad game without the 'its not c1' argument.
While I highly doubt it, I hope they bring back some form of Power Struggle from Crysis 1 for multiplayer. I liked playing Battlefield as a super soldier.

I still love Crysis 1, what they've done with the series pains me.
Crysis 3 logic: Wears a million dollars suit and have access to a variety of modern weapons Uses a Bow and Arrow
To be frank, the bow looks more than just a simple bow. Perhaps they might add some cool stuff on it. Thermal vision sights or some crap like that.
