I made the mistake of cheating and was finally able to get the games I was no longer able to play (well I could play them, but most of the non secure severs suck) multiplayer Source engine games. If Valve did that, cheaters that learned their lesson wouldn't get a second chance unless they got a different computer.

I don't really mind TF2 being free. Could really care less. However, I'll admittedly say that the new players are easy to pick out solely on their names. Plenty of them are annoying as fuck too, it's ridiculous. I was a medic once and I literally sat and watched as the heavy I was healing was dumb enough not to notice the scout shooting pellets right into his back from behind, right next to him. Also I can now play spy well :3

Many licensing programs license based on machine id already, I don't see how this is breach of privacy really. Atleast this would prevent cheating a lot

F2P. If I'd seen this, and paid for this a week ago, yeah, I'd be mad, I'd be wanting a refund, then I'd play for a while and think 'Fuck it, this is something someone should pay for.' Luckily I bought it three years ago, so bollocks to all the complainers, we have fun, that's all that matters. Good show Valve, you've once again shown you can pay to be on top of the industry.

I think the only thing that's stopped hackers before was the risk of wasting 20$ everytime you get caught. I have a feeling they'll be more common now.

My little brother wants to play tf2 all the time and I don't want him using my account so this is a great thing. I hope this creates a standard for other games.
