• HTC could be getting out of the VR business
Palmer Luckey is on reddit and Twitter right now talking about potentially purchasing Vive from HTC.
That could go both ways if it happens. On one hand, it's really good for there to be two VR headsets so there's some healthy competition going on but on the other hand, Oculus and the Vive team working together could make that one ultimate perfect headset.

The rift would not have developed motion tracking as fast as it did if it wasn't for the vive. The vive would not have received a price cut if it wasn't for the Oculus price drop.
The absolute last thing we need is a VR monopoly [editline]26th August 2017[/editline] Like, they're perfectly fine making the perfect headset as mutual enemies
Palmer left facebook.
Palmer left facebook.
My post wasn't about that though? That's what the post I was quoting was talking about, "Oculus and the Vive team working together" in response to "Palmer Luckey... potentially purchasing Vive from HTC." Its like either way, his hypothetical of oculus and the vive team working together would be absolutely not good because that leaves no one else on the PC market really doing nearly enough. Palmer himself should just stay out of everything and live off of the money he's made. Live it safe. He's not really a business guy.
Palmer left facebook.
Not willingly
Uhhh yeah, that's what I just said.
Sorry quoted wrong person

I still think VR needs some crowdfunding so as to enable the research and development of less expensive options.
