in all the footage ive seen i haven't seen a any glaring bad stuff. it looks pretty dang good, a lot like the first game but with better graphics and more features. i don't really get this review. it's saying it sucks, because the map is too big? what?
It looks great from the actual gameplay footage. It looks like an improved version of old Dead Rising games. You can pick stuff up while moving, how awesome is that? I honestly don't want it to do well so they feel obligated to bring it to PC, but at the same time I want it to do so well that they'll feel obligated to bring it to PC. :v:
now the question is, can you run while swinging a chainsaw, like dead rising 1 [editline]19th November 2013[/editline] i would love an answer to that question by the way, if anyone's seen it in gameplay footage

Mannequin torsos were also the best common melee weapon you can get your hands on.
such as
For starters, the game looks badly written. Advancing the story by 10 years is a stupid way to forward the plot and get rid of characters from the previous games without mention. Secondly, the color palette looks ridiculously bad. It's a sea of washed-out browns and greys - something that we've already seen enough of. Third, Nick Ramos is not a good protagonist. He doesn't have a decent backstory, and doesn't have a good motive. Frank was good because he was witty, funny and the photographer spin on him worked. Chuck was good because he had a great motive (Trying to keep his daughter alive) and a well-written backstory. Nick? He's whiny (seriously, watch gameplay videos) and he isn't convincing as Frank or Chuck. Fourth, its exclusiveness is in fact an issue. Capcom has nothing to do with Dead Rising 3. Microsoft Studios is publishing, and for a Capcom-owned series, this is worrying and likely the prime reason it's Xbone exclusive. Going multi-platform was a step in the right direction for DR2, and garnered the game more sales. However, with DR3 being exclusive AND a release title for a new console, it will most certainly not sell as well as 2. There's likely more I forgot , but there is my two cents.

It's not their excuse to remove characters, it's how they want to tell the story. The color pallet is to set the tone. While I agree grey and brown is overused, Dead Rising 3 is a game where that color pallet works since it conveys the correct tone. There's nothing from the gameplay videos that show anything about Nick at all. There are only little snippets here and there but other than that you know jack shit about him. Dead Rising 1 was an exclusive so get off your anti-xbox high horse.
Seriously? QTE's with shaking a controller? Of all the QTE bullshit out there those are the worst.
But Dead Rising does it all the time? Zombie grabs you? Shake the stick. Now it's been changed to: Zombie grabs you? Shake your controller. [editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
and while I'm listing complaints I may as well list off one that doesn't necessarily affect gameplay but puts my titties in a twist: When you're low on HP, now you get the whole "Jam spattered onto the screen" bullshit like almost every fucking AAA game out there nowadays, what was wrong with just having the character hunching up and holding his side while moving?
This was my first complaint when I saw gameplay.
I'm kind of relieved this game is bad. Now I won't be jealous when my friends get it.
I hated that in Dead Rising 2. Apart for toxic zombie spit, their only attack is just grabbing you and triggering QTE (and sometimes they just hit you but it's rare as fuck)
Someone is going to inevitably do it too hard and accidentally throw their controller at the TV.
Well that's their fault for being a klutz, same thing happened when the Wii first came out. And honestly if the shaking controller gesture is registered well enough, I'd take that over waggling the stick any day. I hate it when games have shit like that, it's hell on your controller
